Comment:
Potentially one of the worst math teachers I have ever had. Doesn't actually teach anything just has you copy notes while he writes them down with no added explanation and no ability to answer questions. For someone who already knew the material I am doing fine in the class but new subjects are impossible to learn with him.

No chance for extra credit, apparently you can't have the opportunity to have better grades because the smarter guys should have the same chances as you but he won't if you are on the same level as them. Also, he won't consider how hard you work or how much you understand. A very traditional educational system applied.

Tony pretty much just rewrites the textbook as class lectures. This teaching style is not for everyone. I got by just copying the notes from online, but others just read the textbook instead of going to class. He tells you exactly what will be on the test, question by question and grades fairly easily. This being said it was not hard to get an A.

By far the worst math professor I have ever had. He teaches by copying the textbook onto a sheet of paper that is projected onto a screen for us to copy. He often makes typos, and any question you ask he struggles to understand, and his answers will make you even more confused. His tests and quiz's are way harder than anything learned in class.

Man, his notes are trash. Hard tests and quizzes... drop the class before the deadline. Doesn't matter if you're in class or not, it'll still be the same struggle.

Professor Julianelle is a great guy, but his lectures just consist of him copying down the textbook (often with errors) on a projector and his students copying down what he writes. He tells you what to study, but the quizzes and tests are unreasonably hard. Definitely not a good professor for such a difficult class.

He was very rude. He didn't give me a chance. Wrote me off the first day of classes and I lost all respect for him then.

Tony is amazingly nice! He really wants you to do well, but saying that his tests and quizzes are ridiculously hard, and he doesn't lecture any better than reading from the book. Studying for tests is impossible because they are always ten times harder than anything you've ever seen.

The infamous mighty taco only wants his students to succeed. His weekly quizzes will challenge you to become the master of Calculus. He tells you exactly what to study for the exams. Just go to class, look like you're taking notes, do the homework and you will be very successful. Long live the mighty taco! The best professor at UVM.

Comment:
His teaching style is awful; he simply writes on a paper on the overhead and makes you copy down the notes. He writes very sloppy and fast making it hard to keep up. The questions on the tests are not anything you practice in class(not that there is many practice problems) and nothing close to the ones in the textbook so no way to really prepare.

Tony is honestly one of the nicest people ever, and he's so sweet in office hours. That being said, I don't really think he's a good teacher. He basically just reads from the textbook out loud for an hour and his tests are hard. If you can get a small class size you'd probably be okay, but Julianelle + a Lecture Hall is a recipe for disaster.

He sets you up for failure by giving 2 question quizzes, he's not very good at explaining the topics, if you ask a question he just gets flustered and confuses things more than they originally were. He's a cool guy, not a very good professor.

Made a tough subject even harder. He teaches straight from the textbook, doesn't translate any of the explanations in the textbook. If you raise your hand, you'll most likely end up even more confused than you were before you asked. He's not good at explaning. If it's not in his notes, he won't know what you're talking about. Wouldnt take again.

Tony Julianelle is a great individual and gives homework extensions when needed. Strictly follows the textbook in his lectures and the only criticism I would give him is that he sometimes could go just a bit further than what's in the textbook. Nevertheless, very knowledgeable in his subject and would take a class with him again.

Julianelle is honestly one of the niceset people ever, and if you are the kind of person who goes to office hours and builds a one-on-one relationship with a professor I would recommend him. If you're not willing to put that bit of extra work in, though, I would say that his lectures are not the greatest on their own

I had Professor Julianelle for Calc II and since I couldn't withdraw (like at least a quarter to a third of the class did) I have to take it again. I went to every class. He's nice but hands down the worst professor I've ever had. He's extremely unclear. If it's not on his note sheet, he can't answer your question. Tests are very hard. ANYONE ELSE.

Probably one of the worst teachers I have ever had. I had to withdraw from the class and he was not willing to help at all. I was very disappointed. I retook the class with another professor and got a B in it.

Tony Julianelle is one of the best math professors I have ever had. Usually I struggle with math, and after calc 2 I was a little wary of how I'd do with higher math in university, but all of my worries were completely quelled with Tony. He explains everything very well and gives very good examples. Gives extra credit for class attendance.
