Cindy is a wonderful prof and she has such a warm personality. She really wants to see her students succeed and she is always open to any questions. Fair amount of reading that we breezed through, so be prepared to read. She expects a lot when it comes to writing, but she gives really good feedback to her students. Please take her if you can!

I absolutely loved Cindy's class. She is an extremely organized and interesting professor to listen to in class. She is a pretty easy going grader when it comes to papers and other assignments. I definitely recommend taking her class if have the opportunity!

Honestly, the best teacher I have ever had. She's simply a wonderful fun lady. There was a fair amount of reading required for the class, but they were all great books. She is critical on grading, but the criticism is productive! I LOVE PROFESSOR MALONE!

Comment:

Simply put: world's best English teacher. Engaging, vivacious, helpful; loves her subject, really gets you involved with the material via group discussion, but also gives you a thorough background and TEACHES. Expects quality writing but gives detailed, helpful feedback. You won't be sorry to take her class, even if you're not an English major.

This class had a ton of reading, but Cindy is super nice, and the books were good! Only tests are a midterm and a final (our final was optional). We occassionally had short quizzes. Assignments are answering a discussion question after the reading and 2 papers. I recommend Cindy!

Grading scheme is slightly skewed (some students get A's for doing almost nothing, others have a hard time getting noticed for their efforts). Not as helpful to students she clearly doesn't care for (and she makes it rather obvious). In short, a fine and experienced professor, but-looking at these comments-clearly overrated.

Very approachable and open, always willing to help. Class was about an even mix of lecture (with class participation) and small group discussion & sharing. Exams are short essay format, so be sure you come to class and take notes. The second paper looks long, but has a creative writing option that makes fun to write.

Cindy is an amazing professor. She has high expectations but her teaching is very rewarding. I learned a lot from her energetic and funny style. She made class interesting and fun. Papers and tests kind of hard, but study hard and ask questions and you'll be fine.
