Comment:

Cloyd Havens's class is extremely boring. The in class lectures cover everything that you read in the book. So if you read the book you essentially sit through a useless class. His tests are so unbelievably hard, in order to get an A you must memorize every vocabulary word. Added bonus though he curves his tests but still doesn't help.

He makes law very interesting, and he gives good examples. All tests are in class, kinda hard but we do a lot of easy homework so even if you can slack on the exams.

Great teacher. He engages the class well with many good interesting stories. He has news of the day regarding law as well as making phenomenal examples when explaining concepts. Some people may think he is dry, but Business Law is vital to all business, pay attention, ask questions, stay engaged, and it's a phenomenal class. High recommend.

Havens is a really kind man and his class is not hard if you do the homework questions (also not hard). There is one group project throughout the semester which is totally manageable if you meet his deadlines! Take him!!!

Professor really knows what he is doing and it explains it well; The class is difficult to understand but can be do-able if notes are taken and reading the book. Exam is difficult too but all it takes is to go over your notes (textbook too) to study. Group project also involve but its pretty simple and do-able

Havens is the best law teacher! If you're looking for an easy A, do not take him. if you want to be challenged , write a lot, study a lot of chapters for exams, and get extra credit, Havens is the prof to take.

Prof. Havens is great! He has a dry sense of humor and is so funny, but still is such a nice guy. Class was pretty easy and grading was very straightforward. He took us through the project step by step so it was nothing. Take him for bus. law!

Havens has a strong interest in law & runs his own law firm. Take time to preview and review the textbook. Law may seem dry to you, but copyrights, torts, etc. have huge real life application. Try to find ways to apply the text to topics that are interesting to you. Take advantage of all extra credit he offers. Good luck!

Very great professor ! He is not bad as many people say he is as a professor. He is very good at teaching you all the material, and makes it easy to understand. I had some good laughs in this class as well. The assignments are not hard at all and tests are not bad at all !

I was worried about this class but Prof. Havens is AWESOME. Best stories. Entertaining class. This class even made me consider switching my major to Pre-Law! I cant think of any one better to teach business law!

Havens is an incredibly knowledgeable guy! He has his own firm so he knows what's up. This class is NOT easy so if you are wanting to cruise through with an easy A, you will want to pass on this class. Although my grade was not very good, I would not have traded my time in this class for anything. I have learned so much about business law. A++

STUDY THE BOOK. All tests come from the book, and Havens just goes over the book in class and highlights areas that are important to him or will be important to you on an exam. Good prof, but expects you to do the work, and only study guide he gives is the book. Final is cumulative from previous tests (he posts online for you). Tells good stories.

Very knowledgeable professor. Make sure to read the textbook yourselves because given the info he goes over class, it is next to impossible to take in everything. Tests can be tricky but it won't kill. Make sure to do homework and do well on the final project and all should be well.

He is an okay guy. He can be very monotone and that will make you not want to pay attention, but you have to if you want a C or better. Test are very difficult. You need to study a week in advance for them. Luckily he grades on a curve, that really helps. You will cover so much material. One group project, not hard at all.

Excellent teacher, kind of sarcastic, but really nice. Really clear lectures, he really knows his stuff and makes up pretty good stories. The class isn't that hard as long as you do the 20 mins of HW each night and study for the tests.

No No No. Take another professor. He goes over too much material at one time. Unless you are taking this class as part of a light load, take the other guy. You will spend your whole semester focused around just trying to get a C in this class. Don't take this class.
