Cory is honestly one the best professors I have ever had. He is clearly passionate about his work and he truly cares for his students. He is super helpful and hilarious. Class is always a blast, because he finds ways to make it inventive, hands-on, and fun! 100 percent recommend.

Cory's a great guy and really cares about his students. He's not the world's toughest grader and many of his assignments are what you make of them. If you want to put in as little effort as possible you'll scrape by, but if you really apply yourself to his projects you can really create something you're proud of.

Cory one the best professors I've ever had. He has a different teaching style than the typical professors, but he is brilliant that he ties current advertising events with the class lectures. Take Cory's class if you want a professor who is fully committed to his students, and you'll enjoy your time learning. He is one of the reasons I love Chapman

Most of the learning revolves around the book and all tests are basically from it. Overall, it is a pretty easy class. However, he is a tough grader who wants things word-for-word from the book. In class you won't learn much besides the application of the class. He is a great guy who cares for everyone.

Cory is a great guy. He's funny and genuinely cares about students. In addition, he has a great life story. However, I can't say I learned much. 90% of his tests is material from the book - stuff he will rarely discuss in class even though it is crucially important information to learn in a foundation course. The upside is you will likely get an A.

Comment:
He is enthusiastic in class and seems very knowledgeable, but he isn't very clear about project requirements. What he does in class is quite trivial and he sometimes uses the "Socratic method" as an excuse to NOT teach. Some people love him for his optimism, but I don't think I learned much from his class.

Sure Principles of Advertising might be fun and dandy but DO NOT take any other class with him. His enthusiasm blinds students from realizing they don't actually learn anything. Worst class I've ever taken at Chapman and I want my money back.

If you are open minded, true to your self, and motivated, you will do well in this class. If not, you simply will not do well. Understand that Cory and your IntCom classmates can teach you far more than typical tests or textbooks. Embrace this and realize the class is required anyways- make the experience count for something.

He talks about pointless things for a majority of class. Do all of the homework, it's long but easy. Tests are kind of hard so study, same with final project.

Cory is genius.Unfortunately, genius is often misunderstood. If u are book smart & type-A, u'll hate him. If u are wellrounded & openminded, he'll teach u in the way university thinking was meant. There's a reason he went to Harvard. I learned the most from him in my PRA & frankly, if u dont like him its probably cuz ur not smart enough to get it

Cory means well, he genuinely cares about the success and happiness of his students. However - sometimes his classes were nothing but frustration as he can lose control of the students or goes off topic quite a bit. Be prepared to adapt rapidly to changes in grades, requirements, and syllabus.

I have to say Cory is under-rated. I'll be honest, Cory's lack of strick text-book teaching was extremely STRANGE to me and I really hated it. But if you learn to just listen to everything he says and what you discuss in class, you learn a whole lot more than what a textbook can tell you. Group prjcts, pwr point& lecture focus tests. Always ask Q's

Cory's teaching style is a little different and sometimes he can be hard to follow because of the way he jumps around to topics. He really cares about his students and classes, and he is very intelligent when it comes to advertising but sometimes has a hard time getting his point across. Study the powerpoints (tests are taken directly from them).

Expect hours of time discussing things that could be wrapped up in 30 minutes (like grading or group projects). Be nice to your classmates since they grade your blog, or you'll get a bad grade. If you're late to class, you get an absence, but since he's late at least once a month, it's like roulette for whether or not you can be.

If you're on Cory's good side, then he can be very helpful for planning your future. Just don't expect that to transfer into his classes. His teaching is horrific, if you don't have smart classmates you won't learn (they teach you). Dawn Taubin was the best thing to happen to this class, sorry if she isn't a part of it next semester.

I had herd many stories about his class. Expect to spend 1 class period staring at a classmate without talking, its a learning experience! If you can manage his creative "energy" you will be able to enjoy the class. Just roll with flow of the class. He is easy going and has great knowledge of what he is doing. Don't discredit him for loving his job

I absolutely hate his teaching method. Everything he talks about and all the assignments are pointless; I learned nothing new this semester. YES, social media is a big deal, but as the younger generation we already know all about it. Waste of my time, and his bipolar personality frustrates me.
