Comment:

Dr. Thompson is probably the funniest English teacher Ive had. If you take this class, you will get heckled from time to time (but in a good way). Definitely have to do the reading if you wanna pass because he gives weekly quizzes that are only four points each, but they add up by the end of the semester. Really nice guy who gives good feedback.

I took ENG203 with Dr. Thompson in Fall '17 and really enjoyed it. He chose GREAT books and we did 4 regular essays and a creative writing project. I worked HARD for the B that I got, but I really appreciated his sharp notes and grading, and he really does give you opportunities to make the points, just show up.

4-question short answer quiz every week on the assigned reading, 5 books + 5 papers (final paper was creative writing), 3 critiques of classmates' essays, one sealed + stamped letter each week, & in-class grammar activities. If you do the reading and take your papers to the writing centre, you'll do fine. Prof. Thompson is awesome! Take his class!

Comment:

Professor Thompson is one of the best professors I've had so far and truly cares about his students. He makes the class hilarious and with all of the participation activities you do, you'll become very close with your classmates. As long as you do what's assigned, you'll pass the class. Trust, I googled my way through like 4 of the 5 books we read.

very funny and cares about students! is fair when grading . there are kinda a lot of books to get and read that are mainly about food. 5 papers total not too bad except for the names that book is super boring I googled my way through that essay. weekly quizzes will drop your grade a whole letter 4 questions each week on the reading if you fail it

Get ready to read and if you don't read then get ready to fail all of the weekly quizzes. Hard grader on essays and doesn't really explain all that he wants. Books are pretty easy to write about since their all about food except for one which is boring and super tough to read, understand and write about.

He is hilarious.He is laid back but expects you to know your stuff.We read about 5 books and wrote 5 essays.He tests weekly on what you read and randomly asks students opinions so READ YOUR BOOKS.He sometimes curves grades if he feels you are improving. Overall great! wish I could take his class again.

Thompson is an amazing teacher! We read one book all semester, there is a quiz almost everyday, you have to read the book to pass the quiz! Do the homework, it seriously takes like half an hour of your time! I actually learned a lot, hes passionate, helpful, and really cool. Hard grader on the papers, but once you learn what he wants it gets easy!

Awesome professor! Learned a lot and enjoyed the material. Got a little boring here and there, but overall a pretty easy class! He helps you out a lot on critiques, telling you what to work on and what needs to be changed. If you do, your grades on papers will get better. Really liked this class and would take this professor again in a heartbeat!

Dr. Craig Thompson, a rather dapper man, teaches English 10 straight from the book with a mellow, laid back approach. Every test is based off the practice test at the end of every chapter and with a little effort you will pass this class. I highly recommend Professor Thompson to anyone that needs Engish 10, I just wish he taught English 50 too.

Let me just say, I learned a ton in this class, and prior to this class i had a 99.6% in eng100 overall grade, but in this class I got a C. He grades extremely critically. But it's for your benefit. His quizzes will bring down your grade though. Lots of boring reading, not enough points to accumulate, but easy papers to write about. FOOD.

This class is definetly a hard one, There were 5 Papers, based on stupid food articles that no one cared about. The papers weren't too bad, the downfall were his weekly quizzes which brought down my grade a whole letter. He's a good guy, but the material definetly sucked... Dont take him in the afternoon makes u wanna go take a nap instead..
