keeps class engaged and makes concepts clear. overall a great class with a great prof!! you have to study, but it's nothing outrageous. papers are difficult but there are ample chances to revise and improve

He is extremely smelly to the point where it is unbearable to be more than 50 meters close to him. He always has something in his teeth, and claims he knows what the fox says.. but really he doesn't. WORST of al, he thinks that Ecology is an interesting topic.

Comment:

Dr. H is one of the most passionate professor in the UE biology department. He is hilarious and will always push students to think for themselves and figure out problems with just enough guidance so student achievement in his class are honestly earned. This may be a hard class, but that's because you learn so much. Dr. H is the best!

A professor who expects you to read the pages assigned so you can come into class and discuss the material. His tests were essay form and he had little to no multiple choice on his tests. In the end, if you prepare for his class and do enough studying for his quizzes and tests, a B is not too hard to achieve.

I understand why people are saying that Cris was difficult...and I agree that he could probably change his syllabus to fit students who are not studying his degrees...but he is a very smart, very funny, and extremely passionate professor. Having him for class was refreshing...he actually cared!

I can see where the freshmen are coming from about Dr. H assigning a lot of writing work, but frankly that is a ridiculous reason to give him a bad rating. He is completely passionate about what he does and really presents environmental science in interesting ways. He is very helpful and has different types of assignments to choose from.

This class is terrible! If for some reason you are unfortunate enough to have Dr. Hochwender for WC 120, DROP THE CLASS!!! You will have more assignments and more work than any other section of WC 120. Take a different section or better yet take it at Ivy Tech! Class is based on 3 papers - you WILL have to re-write all three.

Avoid Dr. H for this one unless you really want to put in more work than the other sections. Grade is based on 3 papers (6-12 pages), several in class papers, weekly quizes, a midterm (short answer) and final (short answer). He isn't hard by any means, but his version of WC-120 is not a walk in the park.
