Comment:

I was blown away by the overall quality of Professor Davis' lectures. At first I was annoyed that attendance was mandatory, but I enjoyed class every time. If you hate giving speeches in front of the class, it may be daunting, but he is so supportive that it makes it all easier. I was dreading this class for the speeches but it ended up my fave.

I had the honors section. He is surprisingly funny, and just a good time. You can get an A if you just try a little bit and actually do his feedback in your next speeches. Attendance is a grade, but it won't kill you. Awesome class overall.

I look forward to his class, he is a great teacher. You have to prepare speeches frequently, but he grades generously. You will have to spend some time preparing for your presentations. He has difficulty hearing, but if you speak loudly, you will be fine.

Nice man, simple class. Attendance is apart of your grade, but you can write excuse letters for missing classes. 4 speeches, 2 tests in total including the final. Everyone fails the tests. The material comes from PowerPoint lectures in class and the book. Photocopy book for free in library. Do special assignments early. Class can get very boring.

For whatever reason I had a hard time catching myself yawning in his class. He is a very nice guy, hard of hearing though so be sure to speak up. Grades fair, wants to help you. We watched some interesting speeches on video and that's the highlight of the class. He seems grumpy at first, but he's actually really nice.

He's awesome. Very sweet, lectures are always interesting. Didn't have to take my final because I had an "A" in the Professional /Business Speech class. Got an A on every speech and speech critique assignment. He has two hearing aids, so speak up when you're talking to him. Take him if you have the chance!

Professor Davis is a great teacher. Attendance is is mandatory if you miss 2 classes he'll take 20pts off your grade so make sure you go. 2 Tests they're easy, mainly over vocabulary words. All lectures are posted online. 1 group project and 4 speeches.

Great teacher! He is willing to help and is not too tough on grading. This is not a blow off class but he gives you everything you need to know and a lot of time to do it. I would definitely take him again

Class is mandatory and you're grade goes down 20 points for each absence! I missed one class for a mandatory doctor's appointment and I lost 20 points so got an 80. Tests are hard and study a lot for the midterm! Speeches are a piece of cake though. Only thing you need to worry about are the tests! They're multiple choice but they're so hard!

Professor Davis was awesome! I enjoyed this class. it was filled with interesting lectures because he shared his life experiences in conjunction with the information and it helped me to retain the information. We watched interesting videos of excellent speakers. Special assignments helped to keep grades up.

He's the sweetest! He is funny and has lots of experience. He grades very leniently on speeches and helps boost your public speaking confidence. His tests weren't that bad, but make sure you study though. As long as you do the assignments and really prep for your speeches, you shouldn't leave with anything other than an "A". I highly recommend!

Great teacher! Easy grader! Helps making speeches not as scary! The midterm and final are straight from the textbook so you do need it for that. Other than that not much reading. Easy and fun speeches! I made an A! Extra Credit is also available!

Davis is a great professor! he wants everyone to improve and makes the class feel at ease when they have to speak. Make a good grade on the midterm( aka the only test) and you wont have to take the final!!!
