Avoid if possiably, but not necessary like some others. He assumes a lot of knowledge on his students and their ability to pick up on material quick. I read most of the book, went to 95% of classes, and studied the old tests he provided and STILL struggled as a ECON major. Good guy, not pompous, and is willing to help. Also he goes off on tangents ALOT.

If you are an Economics major willing and able to learn, then perhaps you should take him....If you are NOT AVOID HIM!!!!!!!... Exam questions according to him are 10/10 in difficulty, I read the notes, I read the book twice, studied his past exams. I even corrected him in an exam question. and hardly manged to get a B... I was a 3.9 gpa student th

Great Professor - Just make sure and attend class. 20% of the final grade is based on Pop quiz given during the semester, as long as there is an answer, you get complete credit for the quiz ** EASY 20 pts ** study his previous exams and you will do great!! He was soo nice and truely knows his stuff - interesting class :)

He lectures from start to end of class, THEN gives a quiz. There is no way this DEAN should be teaching an intro class, his thoughts and ways of teaching are much too advanced. He complicates things beyond belief. Plus, when he's gone, he has substitutes that teach completely different. He is a great professor, just not for intro level classes.

Seemed kinda pompous at times, but he knows the subject well. Bit frustrating: he'll move thru some of the powerpoint slides too quickly; not enough time to jot down important concepts. Lectures pick up the pace after 1st few wks. Go to SI sessions, it'll help...& do online assignments & quizzes, u'll need all the points u can get. Tests are HARD!

great professor, keeps his class upbeat; all his changes are to your benefit, i.e. pushing back due dates on online quizzes. Tests strictly from powerpoints and online quizzes, dont need the book. tells you exactly what you need to know for tests and reviews in class. loved his class, cant wait to take him again

lectures are boring but you need the class. Curves his grades. Uses overhead alot and also webct. test are not easy but with a genrous curve you should do ok.

Nice guy, shows photos of his travels around the world and relates them to the class. Had a TA you could talk with if you needed help. Hard class though, he uses the overhead a lot. I found the test to be hard, but I'm also bad in Econ. Hes probably one of the better professors to take this class from.

Even though the subject is really boring he loves the subject and trys his hardest to make it interesting. He is very helpful and will do what he can for you.
