I had him for both Spanish classes, and he was very helpful. I easily got an A. However, he did something that no professor should ever do which is talking about somebody's personal issue that they had since they were kids in front of classmates. He made me so mad that day that I didn't want to show up but I continued to show up.

Comment:

do not take this professor if you have never had Spanish before. His class is very fast-paced, and he speaks down to non-Spanish speakers. When I asked for help, he told me to simply study more...not helpful at all! I made a B in his course, but only after studying 3 hours daily. I shouldve listened others when they said to not take him!!

Good teacher, knows his stuff. Explains everything pretty well. Use textbook and lab manual everyday, and you'll get an A. Out of a class of 15, more than half passed with A's. I highly recommend him.

This is the best professor I have ever had. Like the reviews say, yes you do need to make the time to study. You need your book and lab manual every day - it's worth bringing to class. I struggled a little but he was very very helpful. I passed both of his classes through his encouragment. I would highly recommend him

You will spend A LOT of time studying (even if you've had Spanish before). The pace of the class is very quick. But, he is an amazing teacher and will tell you exactly what you need to know for exams. This class relies heavily on the textbook and lab manual (no notes). Have them first day of class.

Unless your young and have been exposed to spanish, this is not the professor to take. He pat answer to questions on how to do better is "you just need to study more." Class started with 20 some students and to date has less than 10. Not a compassionate teacher nor does he care if you fail or pass his class.

Teacher is older, very well educated and knows what he is teaching. Very strict on attendance, 10% of your final grade is based on attendance. But don't be even a minute late or you will be tardy. Can be grouchy at times.

He genuinely wants his students to learn. You will learn. He is always willing to meet with you if you have any questions and he's really cool about letting you attend his other classes if you have to miss the one you're scheduled for. Just be respectful and BE ON TIME! Oh & be sure to ceffeinate before watching Destinos! Fun guy, I recommend him.

He can be a bit impatient when people ask questions and doesn't fully answer the questions clearly...he doesn't like interruptions in his flow of teaching. Now, he does go over every little thing that will be on the test multiple times so there are no surprises. His style of teaching is great, but he's not as helpful as Pearce.

He's nice but starts exactly on time and ends at the last second with no fail. If you have background you'll do great. If you hate speaking up or writing on the board in front of everyone don't take. Otherwise, he's great! It's very boring if you know Spanish though cause you meet 4 days a week and he keeps you the ENTIRE time! No homework at all!

I have taken what seems like years and years of Spanish and I never really learned anything. However, I took his class during the summer and something finally clicked. I have three more Spanish classes to take and I will definitely be taking him, if I can. If you have at least some background in the language, I would definitely recommend him.
