Professor Scott does a really good job walking the class through each paper she assigns. She gives a lot of feedback. Her class is nothing but papers, but she does great at preparing students for different papers they may encounter during their college careers. If you show up and put effort forth you will be fine.

Absolutely hated her. She gives criteria to write around. When youd do so, her grades with her feedback would come up with completely new criteria that was never before listed. WORST. PROFESSOR. EVER.

Expects Ivy League-quality papers for an intro level course and doesn't engage her students. You're expected to know what she wants and how she operates with nothing more than face value. Very soft-spoken and flat.

Comment:

There are about 5-6 reading selection a week, 3 essays, 1 discussion board report on an author, 1 research paper, plus essays on the mid-term & final exams. Quizzes are easy if you read the selections. You just have to keep up with the work. Grades well as long as you write logical essays with good thesis statement and supporting quotes.

Very clear in her directions. If you pay attention in class, you will be fine. If you need help she's always available on email or office hours. If you tend to slack in class don't expect a high grade. You get what you put out. She's a great teacher.

I really disliked this class. Not only is she boring... she does not give clear grading guidelines. She picks favorites out of the class and ignores the rest. I even went to writing lab and she marked off points for things they had advised me on.

Unorganized. Changes mind at last minute and will make you redo an assignment even if it was her fault she posted the wrong thing to begin with. Doesn't release topics for essays until the due date of essay. Will talk down to you in emails. Expects tons of details but never asks for it in her instructions. Hard grader and doesn't accept excuses.

Very picky, worked very very very hard in this class, so manny things she did not want you to do in your essay. She had so many requirements that you have a hard time. The syllabus said we would do final the first week in May, but we did it the week before, very hard grader.

I worked extremely hard in this class, that I neglected my 4 other classes. Just barely passed this class. I did not like the way she always had more specifications for your paper, after you spent the previous class writing down specifications for the essay all class long. Very picky. Did not receive previous papers back for months.

I worked really hard on each assignment. Group/participation assignments were not graded at 100% even though she would just check to see if we completed. All essays were B or below, even though it was only a few punctuation errors.

This was the worst class I have ever taken. It's impossible to please her on essays. She'll cross out perfectly good words and sentences and take off points if its not worded exactly to her liking. I have never made lower than an A on essays and got an F in this class. She's rude & not helpful at all. Chose another professor who wont ruin your GPA

At first I wasn't sure if I wanted to take her because of the poor ratings I read on here, but she was an easy A. She lets you know exactly what she expects from you and all you have to do is put forth the effort. I am horrible at writing but like I said she lets you know what she is looking for and as long as you follow the directions, you're good

I took Dr Scott for Argumentative Eng. 1302 and I received an "F -" for this class. She will fail you if you write any topic she disagrees with. She is very stubborn in her ways and wont help you with much. I had tried to contact her by phone, email and office hours and was only able to get in touch with her 3 times. I Dont recommend her to anyone

She makes all assignments very understanding and types up everything so you can go back over her lecture. She pretty much hands you a good grade. She's a great teacher!

Good professor, but not the easiest. Having said that, I will get an A in comp 2 thanks to the base she helped me build.
