Comment:

Dr. Bjorklund is a respectful and a smart professor. The problem with taking him is that he will have his TAs grade papers and the TAs aren't fair graders. On his exams, the essay parts are super hard to gain points, even with feedback before exams aren't helpful. If you end up taking this class, be aware you will not pass this class that easy.

Dr. Bjorklund is a very fair professor. Attendance was optional and if you showed up to 75% of the lectures you received extra credit. His exams aren't tough if you put in the time to study. There are essay questions (provided ahead of time) on each exam. Lecture slides are posted on Canvas!

Dr. Bjorklund is one of my favorite professors at FAU. I wish I can have him in every class! Grades fairly. He is a wizard in psychology.

He will deduct points, no matter how much you study and how much corrected info on the essay parts on the exams. His TAs harshly grade papers. No extra credit. Unless you want an easy F, do not sign up.

His lectures are not bad but the assignments are quite heavy and gives no room for any relaxation nor to do other class work do not recommend taking with a heavy class load. He is a harsh grader on papers but doesn't give specifically what he wants yet expects you to understand how to do assignments which have little to no explanation

He is by far the worst professor I have ever had. I am in his class right now and a class that is meant to be easy and fun, is boring and difficult. He gives you a bunch of writing essays and is very vague in what he is looking for in the writing assignment.

Not helpful with feedback on essay parts for exams. No extra credit. Even if you wrote a page for each essay question and knowing you were correct, he will deduct points. If I were you, I'd avoid him.

You can tell he's passionate about the subject but his lectures aren't the best. The essays and hw quizzes are easy points but his exams are ridiculous. Multiple choice questions followed by 3 essays. I would have an A in the class if it weren't for his tough exams. Once he saw how many people failed the 1st exam, he scrambled to give extra credit

Unless you want to risk failing since the grading of papers and exams isn't fair, I would just avoid him...I don't know why the reviewers are saying he is perfect, but don't sign up for Bjorklund...

One of the best courses I have ever taken at FAU. The teaching style of Dr. Bjorklund is excellent in motivating future PSY honors students to strive into their designated fields. He introduces students beautifully into the field of Psychology and Neuroscience by having many resources to get to know other researchers at FAU. Overallgreat professor.

Comment:

One of the most profound professors at FAU. He's so smart! He's been studying psychology, before I was even born, and it shows. The most knowledgeable, experienced, awe-inspiring and widely published professor. I've taken 3 classes with him, and I plan to take more. It's a tough class, but you'll leave worlds smarter than when you came.

Horrible professor, no amount of reading will prepare you for his exams. He goes off top often and doesnt make the topic interesting whatsover. I would advise you not to take this professor!

The book will help you better learn than the powerpoints. He has his TAs grade the papers and they are harsh graders, so you have to write well. He makes the study guides harder and confusing to study, even his feedbacks on the study guides will help you fail the exams. He will talk to you like you're dumb. Doesn't care about his students at all!

This class was the worst class I've taken at FAU. The PPs are vague and unclear and he doesn't give good explanations. He gets confused with his lectures. His exams are extremely difficult and tricky. Took for Sum. 6 papers, 2 exams, no EC. Everything graded by his TA's and he will not address your concerns. He'll just tell you to talk to his TA's.

This is the first review I have written for any professor which should say a lot. This is the worst professor and class I have ever taken at FAU. He has his two TA's that grades his papers for him and they grade very harshly. His exams are really hard and tricky. I am never taking any classes of his again. DONT TAKE THIS CLASS. Save Yourself.

It's impossible to get an A. There's no motivation, interaction, or connection with students at all. Arrogant and selfish. The Power point and study guides are useless. Unfair grades and tricky exams. terrible experience. I've never had an experience like this at FAU.

Comment:

His lectures are really interesting and there are a couple of papers you have to work on. He is a tough grader, but you can still do good on his class if you pay attention to the lectures. Tests are pretty hard but the subject is very interesting so it makes it easier to motivate yourself to study. Would take him again, he seems to know his stuff.

Dr. Bjorklund is an amazing professor, he is extremely knowledgeable and respected in the psychology department. I have a feeling all these bad reviews were done by the same student (as all older reviews are great). If you work hard and study you can get an A in his class. He is funny, his lectures are interesting, and he answer his emails quickly.
