I've taken Dr. Brenders before for ORGC 201 and he was very nice in both classes now just be aware that all readings are on d2l for every class there'll be a quiz in which he asks one broad question also he provides good feedback for the final paper to help you get started and he also shares great jokes especially on the first day.

While Professor Brenders is a nice guy, I learned absolutely nothing in this class. He is very lecture heavy and there was no prep for the final exam or midterm. He has so much potential to make this class amazing and I feel he went wrong in several areas. This was a required course for me otherwise I would not have taken it

I didn't appreciate how this professor teaches. He haphazardly reports his opinion yet he quotes research from 2005 to support. While he attempts to be funny by telling jokes, he comes off as rude (playing jeopardy loudly over the speakers while we take a quiz). oh, and he wanted us to call him "daddy-o." This class seemed outdated and pointless.

Comment:
Dr Brenders is a kind and conversational guy. He is easy to get along with, not a stickler about attendance, and is always open to suggestions. However, for a graduate course it was primarily lecture heavy with little application of the content. I wish there was a bit more organization and opportunity to apply what we learned.

Awesome online class to take over intercession. Goes quick but he just wants to see you did it. Easy to get an A

Dr. Brenders is a very nice man, he always has a few jokes to crack which is an awesome way to start a lecture. As long as you show up, you will do just fine. But in terms of the textbook, it's really your choice. You really would only need for the online quizzes, but they're straightforward.

SUCH a nice guy. First half of the class is basically common sense but then gets a little harder in the second half. Doesn't make you buy a text book and gives minimal readings/projects/papers. would take him again for sure

Comment:
The course is heavy on lecture, light on group work and discussion. Professor Brenders is a nice guy, can be pretty funny and has interesting examples. However, he can also confuse himself and tends to go off on tangents. If you're able to stay engaged through long lectures, the course can be very interesting. If not, the course can be challenging.

Took LSP112 with Brenders and it was fun. He never took attendance and kept classes short. The only big assignments are the rough draft and final paper which counts for 50% of your final grade. Class discussions were terrible and no one ever talked. Tons of assigned reading that no one read and a few quizzes. Overall, do not take him for LSP.

Professor Breeders was GREAT!!! We had 3 assignments , midterm and final. Midterm was easy as long as you listen to his lectures. His jokes maybe a bit odd for the younger students but I though he was funny. Make sure you take good notes and participate in class he would learn you name faster if you do so. Great professor ..

I was hoping to get a lot out of my Capstone but it ended up feeling like a complete waste of my time. Assigned readings had nothing to do with the field of communication (think: alternative medicine). He attempted to facilitate discussion and then usually let us out early. Quizzes on readings every day, but not hard. He's a nice guy, but unclear.

Dr. Brenders is a nice guy, but his mind runs in 1,000 different directions. His instructions are vague and sometimes he confuses himself during his explanation! The assignments (2) we're very easy but poorly explained, so the entire class felt confused. Overall, nice and lenient guy, but this quarter he was not the best profesoor...

Easily my favorite teacher I ever had at DePaul. I'm still using what I learned in his class. He made it interesting and easy--I WISH I could retake this class.

LOVED this man and this class!! Such an interesting class, lots of different subjects covered, wish I could take a part two this quarter! He is a really easy teacher/grader, a fun guy, and let us out early most of the time. Lots of movies, tests were EASY!! Little to no reading, left in a good mood EVERY class.

So nice! His jokes may be a little bit odd, but he tries his best to make the class fun. 2 tests (midterm and final) each with around 10 questions-super easy grader! Knowledagble and helpful. I'd retake his class in a heartbeat!

Dr. Brenders was literally the reason I graduated college. He was only concerned with making sure I learned what was needed in the class and was always free to talk when I had a question or problem. I will always appreciate what he did for me and our classes.

Brenders never bothered to learn our names & part of our grade was supposed be based on participation? WTH? And every class, we just copied pages & pages of PowerPoint slides. And this was only the 1st half of the class... I would definitely NOT take him again.

This class was kind of dry -- a lot of random information about concepts and theories that didn't seem to connect with one another. 30 question midterm and 30 question final. 2 reflection papers. Class was a breeze and Brenders tries hard to be witty and keep it interesting. Recommended!
