Comment:

Prof. Slater was a fantastic math professor! I am very apprehensive when it comes to math and he made me feel very comfortable. He is easy to talk to, willing to help you, and has a funny dry sense of humor, he definitely loves math! I had him for Elem. Algebra, and picked him for my interm. algebra and intro to stats class.

Great Professor! Quizzes are take home. He responds to emails quickly. He answers everyones questions thoroughly. If you get lost in this class, it is because you didn't ask the question. Be prepared to put the work in.

Prof Slater was entertaining and kept you awake during a 3 hour class..but he is HARD. All tests were take home and I just barely got an A tearing my hair out along the way. Some things even stumped the learing center people. My other classes were complete cake compaired to this one.

Comment:

Mr. Slater is a great teacher and I recommend him for Introductory Statistics. He's organized and prepared for class. The material is solid, some topics were not covered, but I think he found a good balance. Tests are absolutely fair, as are the quizzes. Answers emails in timely manner and seems excited about topic. Go to class & do the homework.

The only teacher that thrives on his students failing over the simplest of questions that are actual riddles he just puts on tests for the hell of it. The guy is long winded, boring, a jerk, and just an all around bad teacher. I would never wish him on my worse enemy.

This guy is a joke for a teacher. he doesnt know how to teacher proberly and give work that he doesnt even know how to figure out sometimes. everything is way to hard...even some tutors had a hard time at it. He his the worst teacher that ive had at ncc.

A lot of people below me have said he is easy. Well...he's not easy for a Tuesday night class. If you are BAD at Math...do not take him. It's a ton of work and I was very overwhelmed. Maybe he's better if he is taken on a M,W,F...Idk...but if you hate math and only want to take it one day a week...do not take it with him.

this teacher was incredible. this was the first class i took in 16yrs and was very nervous. he was very helpful in class as well as emails. he really wants his students to learn. if you have to take a math class and he is an option DO IT!! by far the best teacher i have ever had. if i had a teacher like this in h/school i would of went sooner

Hands down the best math teacher I have ever had. I was completely math illiterate and with lots of hard work I managed to get an A in this class. He explains things phenomenally well and somehow manages to make sense of the most confusing question you throw at him. He's entertaining and very animated. If at all possible TAKE THIS PROF!

Excellent teacher. Explains every subject with extreme clarity and makes sure everybody is following along. He's fair when grading tests or take home assignments. Highly recommended.
