OS - Clark is a smart guy and very knowledgeable on UNIX systems but isn't suited for teaching. No syllabus, no clear grading criteria, no feedback. Class was taught by reading the PPT slides that accompanies the textbook - dull and uninformative. Final exam final grade, questions are fair but difficult. Suggest reading text to teach yourself.

He absolutley does not know how to teach. Mumbles looking at slides. No knowledge gained from this class. Gave us takehome final and more than 40% of the class got C or lower!!!!!!!

I haven't gotten my grade yet, and I can't imagine what it will be because he never returned any of our work. I didn't get one, single assignment back all semester. Not a lab, not a hw assignment. He seems distant, doesn't really know how to teach the subject, but knows it well. He is VERY SMART.

If you want to learn Unix he's your guy. If you just want to raise your GPA with an easy A he's your guy too. The thing is that he doesn't care. If you don't mess with him, he won't mess with you. I took 2 classes with him and did a 60.x project - it proved to be a wonderful experience since i was interested in the stuff.

Horrible professor. Nice person, knows the subject but doesn’t know how to teach. Didn’t check any of the hw for the whole semester and at the end of the semester no one in the class knew how to do the final project. Looks and acts distracted in class. Do not take him if you actually want to learn.

If you want to learn about unix administration the class provides great opportunity, dayton really knows what he's talking about. At the same time grading is very relaxed and it's possible to pass the class without learning much.

very nice guy, very smart, fairly interesting. HORRID TESTS AND PROJECTS. No grades in course given till the last week of class, so you have no clue where u stand in grading. If you're a cheater you'll do well, b/c final is usually takehome.

Very distant from his students. He doesn't teach so much as he jsut lectures. Quite boring, but smart. First 4 weeks are not needed, though he checks attendance. Bring a good book.
