Took her for Spring 2019. Shes a great prof. Chems really tough, so study consistently. Very lecture heavy, so be sure to come to class as tests are based on lecture. Record them if you can, it helps you remember things. Go to office hours, she helps you understand material. Schwyter made chem a breeze for me. Very sweet and helpful.

I took Chem 19 with another Professor and had to drop their class. Dr Schwyter Chem 19 class is very doable. Don't believe the bad reviews, she is a nice person and wants her students to do well. Print slides and take notes during class, do problems from the slides and Problem sets until you have it down packed. Her test are easy if you put in work

My respects to Professor Schwyter. She is one of the most caring professors I have ever had. The material taught in Chem 19 is a lot but you can totally do it, just DON'T fall behind. She definitely provides the resources necessary for you to get the grade you desire but you just need to practice, practice, and practice. YOU GOT THIS trust me.

Only take if you're serious and HAVE TIME TO STUDY (min. 2 hrs DAILY)! Schwyter does her best to break down 3 types of chem for non-STEM students. Record lecture, read the book, *DO THE PROBLEMS IN HER SLIDES AND THE HW, REPEATEDLY*. She uses those problems with different numbers on exams. Gives partial credit. She is kind, but hates redundant ?'s.

I learned a lot, but not really because of her. I learned most things on my own and had to really study to do well on her tests. I escaped with a B. The homework is helpful to test what you know so I would recommend doing those.

Prof. Schwyter is a wonderful Instructor. You do have to work for your grade in this class, but she is very informative during all of her lectures. All of the labs she has you do will be memorable. The book is not really that necessary, but it helps. The quizzes are a piece of cake, she gives well over 10, and only grades your 10 highest. Study!!

There are 3 tests200pts each 1 final 240 pts a bunch of labs worth 60 points in total lowestlab dropped around 10 quizzes lowest dropped for 90 points. If you've never taken chem before you will be confused she tries her best to teach but just isn't all that good at it. If youread the book and do the not graded homework you should do okay

Lectures are very informative. Take good notes. If you can do the homework problems and the quizzes then the exams should be no problem. I only used the textbook if I was unclear about something in lecture. She can be unknowingly rude at times.

I passed and showed up to every class so this is an honest review. At the beginning of the semester she was short, rude and treated you like she didn't have the time of day. Towards the end she becomes a tiny bit nicer to who is left. She hates questions, just show up and study her lectures and you will pass.

Dr. Schwyter is a great biochem professor. I felt that her class really helped me when it came to taking the MCAT. She doesn't cover Nucleic Acids but her class does cover Proteins, lipids, carbohydrates, and metabolism. She gives out ppt. with missing material on purpose so that you can attend lecture. She's also really nice and patient.

I'm in med school now and happy that I took her class it prepped me very well. This class is easy compared to med school. I learned so much that I am grateful she teaches this course. She's tough but makes sure you get the information you need to excel in further courses. Tough but great foundation for future courses. She's great

Dr. Schwyter is a truly amazing Professor. I truly enjoyed this semester with her, and I feel that she prepares her students very well for graduate school. My best advice: DO NOT PROCRASTINATE! The course itself is very tough, but the teacher is nice and tries her best to make it manageable. For her exams, understanding the concepts are key.

I took Chem 31 as a prereq for grad school. Advice: don't be late, keep up on on all study material, don't buy the book, and ask questions. She is super helpful, I loved the clarity of her power points and lecture, and overall I think she is one of the best Chem teachers I have ever had. Would definitely recommend taking this class if you need it!

3 exams (1dropped exam) and 1 cumulative final. Labs are fairly simple. Biochem is an upper division class and will also require you to put in the effort. Memorize slides and dont waste money on the text book. Don't be lazy. Final is easy as long as you make a good cheat sheet and are familiar with the material. Very kind and helpful.

Lets be honest, you HAVE TO somehow record lecture, listen to a lot, memorize and memorize the slides. Don't bother w/ book. Tests are long & random, labs are easy & graded kindly. An A is possible but you can't mess around, take w/ easy classes, DON'T PROCRASTINATE. She is a super nice, cool lady, be nice to her and she'll be nice to you.

Think Real Hard if you want to take this Professor. She is extremely hard and NOT Very Nice. You have to do a lot of Memorizing but this still doesn't mean you will get a good grade. This class is extremely difficult therefore I recommend not taking any other class with it. She Does Not give out a lot of A's even if there's only 10 students left.

It was a challenge to get an A in this class but thankfully she lets you bring a cheat sheet to the final exam... it's A LOT OF MEMORIZATION. just memorize her slides and what she says and you will be fine. You do not need the book (I didn't buy it)

Prof Schwyter is amazing. For the exams just memorize exactly what's on the powerpoints and do the practice problems she hands out. You don't need the textbook. Definitely do not fall behind because there is a lot of info to memorize. Also, don't be late and don't talk in class because she yelled at people several times. Overall great class though.

She gets alot of flack for having a 'moment' every so often, but ive taught chem before and it can be very difficult. Considering I think she does very well and holds her self quite professionaly. It was difficult to pick up the pieces in between what was on the power point slides. If you have a hard time following you can miss crucial connections.
