Good prof, he makes things clear and breaks it down so students can understand. 6 tests, a matlab project (10 points each) and a final (30 points so each pt is 1% of ur grade, 5 bonus pts for attendance) but he reviews hw for tests which are very similar to problems on the tests. Partial credit is in 0.5 point increments. Not bad if u pay attention

Your grade is 6 tests, a project, and a final. Attendance can give you bonus or hurt your grade, so show up. He makes mistakes during lectures on the board and the tests are graded hard, but doable. The final is what kills you though, so be sure to have margin going into it. Would recommend a different teacher but you can get through this if needed

As a teacher, Dr. Liao is great at explaining his material and concepts in an understandable manner. His accent isn't bad, but if you have a question, ask it loud because he can have a hard time hearing. He uses 2 lectures before each test to answer hw questions, so make sure to ask as much as you can. With some effort, an A is definitely possible.

Fairly easy, we had 6 tests that were only worth 10 points each and his grader gave a lot of points back. 5 bonus points for attendance. He was flexible with the 2 MatLab projects we had to turn in which weren't very hard.

Dr. Ming Liao is one of the best professors at the Auburn University. He is such a knowledgeable faculty that conveys the main idea of the topics easily. He used his own book (i.e. written by him). Terribly suggested!!!

He speaks English pretty well. Only problem I really had was his writing was so small so just sit close to the board. Has 6 tests that come basically straight from hw. Final is a little harder than the tests but really wasn't that bad if you just study. Two projects worth which are super easy. Gives 5 point bonus for coming to all classes.

Dr. Liao is a very fair teacher. His grading system is a little weird, but the 6 tests he gives aren't really that hard as long as you study a day or two before. Previous comments often mention how hard the final is, but I think he's scaled it back this year because it really wasn't that bad. Would definitely take again.

Tests about every two weeks but only 10 pts each. I did the optional hw the night before tests to study and lowest grade was 9.5/10. Easy class if you put in the effort to learn the methods. Takes attendance every day. Dr. Liao is very sweet though, and I didn't have a problem understanding his accent at all. Would definitely recommend!

He's a nice old man with an accent. His lectures us a bit all over the place, but he really focuses the material during test reviews. The tests are similar to the homework, but it's often hard to finish them due to some time consuming math. His final is quite hard as it covers everything in the class. 2 easy projects. 5 bonus points for attendence.

I had Dr. Liao for Cal 3, and I struggled in keeping up with the class. He gives a test every Friday and a final at the end of the year that's 40% of your grade. He grades the tests so every point you miss is a point off your final average. A B is possible, but an A is challenging. Homework is not counted, and the final was hard. Just keep up

He was a really good professor! There was a test every week, so as long as you kept up with the homework, it wasn't impossible. The final was pretty difficult, but with enough preparation and the formula sheet he lets you use, it's do-able.

Very good professor. He will review the last class's material before starting the new stuff. His grading is odd, but as long as you understand the homework, the tests are easy. Gives extra points for not skipping class. Even though he has an accent, he will write out all important info so you don't miss anything.Very approachable. Would recommend him

A good teacher, but his grading system is horrible, I thought I was doing well in the class, and was making decent grades on the tests, but then ended up with a C in the class because the final was impossible.

He's a nice guy. He really can speak english. However, his grading system is as bad as they say it is; whatever points you lose on tests comes out of your final grade. I was not a fan at all, and I wouldn't recommend him. Only because his grading is awful.

Not a bad teacher overall, pretty enthusiastic about the material. Tests were pretty difficult and the final was outrageous, class average on the final was a 58. Final is worth 30% of your grade. I enjoyed the class until the final killed my grade.
