She lectures so slowly that she gets very behind on scheduled lectures. I actually kept up with reading and I asked her after class to clarify about the assigned readings/class pacing, and she asked very condescendingly, "Do you even have a syllabus?!" I was asking politely. It's not right to belittle a student when they try to seek clarification.

She is very unorganized and conceited. Sometimes condecending if you ask questions outside of class. Class is so boring, and her lectures are not structured at all. I'm getting an A because I can bs stuff, but I regret taking her class.

The comments are from the guys u can tell; she's tough but she'll get you into grad school, writes 30+ recs per year and everyone knows her. If success is what you want, she's your best bet at LMU! I'm a grad student at UCLA and know for a fact. Ignore the lame comments--she has a big reputation awesome big I would not be here!

This professor will change your life. She is brilliant and rightly demands that students rise to their highest potential. If you're ready for a life-altering experience, and prepared to work hard, open your mind, and challenge yourself, then I recommend her classes highly. If you're trying to just skate by then this isn't the teacher for you.

Each class I sat there thinking about how bad of a teacher she is. It should be a high school class. The longest paper you have to write is 1 page. Her lectures are vague, extremely nonsensical, and boring!! It sucks too because the material and reading is very interesting, but still can't make up for her teaching.

i got an A in her class, so it's not true that she does not give A's. Shes very intelligent and her class is very interesting. you have to do the readings, but they're interesting too. it's really not a hard class, and it's very well worth it. only two midterms and a final. some of her tests are even open book! how hard can that be? take her !!

Pretty much sucks entirely. Vague lectures, same points repeated over and over again. Thinks she is a brilliant person, very conceited, but it is seriously THE most boring class you will ever take. The only good thing is you can BS the class cuz she can't tell the difference.

I admire a professor who expects a great from their students. Dr. Gonzalez is difficult but very inetereting and provocative. Many women of color professors sre not treated with the respect they deserve. Great learning experience.

She is the worst teacher. Serious waste of money to take her. I disagreed with her on lots of things and always debated her in class. This lady should have been fired already, the entire class wrote negative comments on her survey at the end.

some in my class didnt like her but i really didnt see what the problem was. she assigns too much reading but most of its pretty interesting. a lil unorganized at times cuz she tries to cram too much into a semester, but she makes her points well enough

American Cultures teacher and Chicana teacher. She is horrible! Does not know how to teach, although she says she has been teaching for 20 years. She teaches from the internet, waste of money to be in her class.
