I''m an old-timer who took 2 courses that he taught in the early to mid 1990''s. He was one of the best teachers I''ve ever studied under. I have ADHD which Dr. Bennett was extremely understanding about. He was always available for extra help whenever I or any of my classmates needed it and he took as much time as was necessary to help us.

People complain about the lecture, and how they can't get a 100%. It may be a level 100 class. Just study the stuff if you don't understand. He does his job do yours. Information and understanding will not magically pop into your head. A Ta's ability to speak English has nothing to do with your grade. Do your part. This class is easy. Do your part.

his incomprehensible lectures are pointless and have nothing to do with the exams, so dont bother going, after the first week you will realize its not worth your time. he is never in his office hours and when you email him or talk to him after class he is VERY short with you. overall he just doesnt care..and he knows it

Honestly the worst teacher that I have ever had. Uses class time to draw worthless and inexplicable pictures that he cannot even understand. Says "you won't need to know this for the exam," then uses the whole 50 minutes of class time to explain it-you will end up seeing it later on the exam. Avoid him at all costs!!!

He knows what he is talking about but you have to do the work for everything. In lecture he will discuss things that won't be on the test or in the textbook. But later on they are on the test. Also, do all the readings, problems, and basically teach yourself everything cuz he sure doesn't!

He spent the beginning of every class telling us the book was useless and the rest of the class blabbering off-topic physics experiments which he assured us would not appear on the exam...almost the worst teacher I've ever had (and thats saying alot).

Bennett is a good prof, but he expects everyone to do their work...his tests are hard but has a huge curve at the end of the semester...just dont get on his bad side, and you will be fine

Had for 102 & 104. A good instructor but only if you are willing to do your part. Last semester he got rid of OWL, this semester he basically dismissed the textbook. Tests are hard, but fair. Try to get a good discussion TA, that is the most important thing.

He's a typical college professor. If you sign up for this class, you are expected to do the work - do the supplemental problems, textbook problems, and READ THE TEXTBOOK and you will do just fine. The only bad thing was that he has a lot of trouble keeping up with the textbook in lectures - so, again, make sure you do the readings!

If you realize early on that the online questions are what the exam is just like, you'll do fine. It's a myth that nobody can get a 100 - because I've done it, and without studying *that* much. Just do the homework and truly understand the Internet problems. He was rather aloof though in person.

Overall he is a really bad teacher. He doesn't know how to follow a syllibus at all! You can never really know what exactly is going to be on any of the tests. His motto is that no one gets a 100%. He deffinatly shoulnt be teaching chem 102. He may be a very smart chemist, but he is a stupid teacher

Dr. Bennet is a smart chemist, but is a terrible teacher. The class average for the past 30 years (according to him)has been 55%...doesn't that say something about the prof??
