Comment:
The worst professor I have ever taken. His instructions can be vague or incorrect, leading to corrections on labs 1 or 2 days before due. His tests are unintelligible since he hand writes them. Questions in class can result in rude/sarcastic remarks about the student's intelligence. He will even suggest arguing a grade may get you a lower score.

Comment:
This professor does not care for his students. He makes quizzes and exams unreasonable and impossible to finish in the given time. The average in the class is normally around a 30, but do not feel confident if you lie above the average. Many of the final letter grades assigned are arbitrary and do not reflect your actual grade.

He pushes you to really think about what is being asked in exams and to apply fundamentals creatively. There are no plug and chug type questions on his exams or projects. The experience is painful but at the end I feel the class was a great benefit. Advice if you take his classes, if he tells you to do something a specific way, you'd better do it.

I really want to describe how bad this professor is, but I can't even come up with the right words. This guy is so disrespectful and rude to students. If you ask questions in class he will ridicule you and make sarcastic remarks and not even answer the question. His tests are so hard that you can study for 20 hours and fail regardless. DONT TAKE

If you have a strong sense of math and can withstand his sarcastic remarks, you will pass. The textbook is your friend and will be 99% of your course knowledge (which is fair since his tests are open book). Take good notes and get concepts down (don't memorize examples, they will get you nowhere).

Tests are impossible. Not a single question will be anything you've done in examples, it's all ridiculously complex and esoteric. You can study all you want, literally have every example worked, it makes no difference. Won't answer questions in class, just reads power points, won't do examples in class. Avoid at all costs.

Comment:
Student say that he is a hard teacher, not true. He is a bad teacher. The material is not difficult, the way he presents it make it more complex than it should be. Most of what is empathized has no practical application in the real world. Spends entirely too much time doing hand calculations on items that are always simulated.

Comment:
Not a good teacher. Just because he went to UPENN doesn't mean he can teach. Offers no practice problems and minimal examples. Makes things overly complex. Is condescending and constantly reminds the students that they are not as smart as him. Is more interested in trying to trick you than teach you.

He's an interesting professor. He does like to show of his talent to the class, but his level of intellect far surpasses any other EE professor in the department. Will agree that exams are difficult, but passing is quite achievable. Tries to keep the class entertained and gives out candy on Halloween! Get on his good side, will help in the long run

He was a detriment to my development as an engineer. Knows nothing about how real systems are deployed. He values complexity and confusion above accomplishment. Waste of time and money, taking anything he "instructs".

Is most interested in informing students he graduated from penn 35 years ago than teaching useful info. Has a chip on shoulder. Needs students to think he's brilliant and accomplished, tries to confuse u into adulation. Got zero bits of info from him talking to slides from book. Explains nothing with competence.

An inspriational Teacher. Very Knowledgeable. Other commenters need to realize, its college, he's not going to hold your hand with everything. Ask questions after class if you have them.

Zero instruction due to the fact the professor is more interested in showing his knowledge to the class rather than conveying information. Under the philosophy that student confusion==harder working students==success. Wrong, as anyone who has held a real job could explain. Principal reason I advise people to avoid my alma mater. Horrible.

Difficult but not overwhelming. If you try you will succeed, but he is very arrogant. He know's his salt, and is worth it. Just make sure to show progress over the year to pass. He is very knowledgeable and helpful outside of class. Just have some patience with him. But watch out for that eye, and when Silage attacks. That stick comes cracking.
