I loved taking Dr. Johnson-Feelings for childrens literature. Yes, she is a difficult professor and you will have to work for your grade, HOWEVER, her expertise and intelligence is unmatched. She is passionate about African American literature and while others complained about an over-saturation in this topic - representation for ALL is her focus.

Dr. Johnson- Feelings is deplorable. The first day she was rolling her eyes, sucking her teeth, pushing her race and political views, opinionated, rude, constantly boasting about her or her husband's achievements, and blatantly discourteous to students. I have such a distaste for this woman I am writing a letter of complaint to the dean.

This is the worst class I have taken in my entire life. The class is all about race and politics. The teacher presses her political views hardcore and if you do not agree with her you are wrong. The class is based basically off of three grades.. two papers and class participation. The teacher grades very hard. Save yourself do not take this class.

She loves to have tantrums in class and walked out a few times, so everyone pretty much hated the class. Expect a bad grade if you're not writing about African American children's literature too. I found that I couldn't talk to her about my problems that I had in class either, and she wouldn't take any criticism herself.

I was a fan of this class, but if you're simply looking for credit and hate writing, steer clear. If you aren't used to having your works being picked apart and inspected, steer clear. She gives good input and points out plot holes in your writing, but be prepared to write. Its easy to tell when you have not been working on your manuscript.

Dr. Johnson-Feelings has good intentions. She wants o get to know her students and wants them to succeed. She can come off and rude and very opinionated but through all of this you will learn a lot. Take her. It's and experience.

Dr. Johnson-Feelings is a great professor who knows her content. However, she is hard to get used to. She has a lot of strong opinions so be ready for that and this class is not anything that you will be expecting. She grades pretty harshly so be prepared to put in your all into the few assignments that she gives you. Also, make sure to go to class

She is an average professor, but lets the race card come into play all of the time. If you are white, she will make you feel guilty for it. She likes white people to an extent, but still feels that race relations are strained. She lets her personal feelings come into her professional life. Not a hard class, but not one that I would recommend.

Run for the hills if you have a chance. She is still stuck in the past think whites hate blacks, opinionated & rude. She freaked on our class when we asked simple questions & forbid you try to finish a sentence. She will just cut you off if you don't agree with her opinions. She knows her stuff but she lets her personal feelings control everything.

She does not like white people. It is clear every class that she dislikes "little white girl publishers." If you're white, you're likely going to feel left out of her discussions. Also, if you're white and ask a question, you're probably going to get a rude response back.

Despite my doubts, I ended up enjoying this class. Some of the books were definitely worth reading and that's all you do! She was super laid back, cancelled classes, movies, etc... All we had to do was discuss the books. The major project sneaks up on you, but I enjoyed doing it. You just have to justify your own grade at the end of the semester.

The class itself is unstructured and very light in terms of actual work. Dr. Johnson is very self-centered and her teaching is extremely skewed by her personal beliefs. Not a particularly hard class overall, but start your final project early and check with her a few times to make sure she likes it.

This class is okay if you're willing to talk every single class and bring in numerous picture books twice a week. Your final grade is based off of participation, a bibliography, and a final project which she does not make a big deal about until the last few weeks. This could be a great course if Dr. Johnson wasn't so self-centered.

I loved this class, it was my favorite one and definitely the most interesting. The books were fun and the class discussions were awesome, and a lot of times hilarious. She is awesome in that she'll actually talk about life topics as opposed to just the books you have to read. Definitely take her for this class.

Her class was very easy and laid back, however i think her final projects are put off till the end of the semester and are a little too ambitious with all of the other finals to be studying for for other classes.

Dr. Johnson was an amazing professor. She was very helpful and loved to hear opinions from students. She is very laid back and understanding, and really shows her love of the subject. She wants her students to learn and get a lot out of her class. I would definitely reccommend her. She takes attendance daily, but her class is enjoyable.
