Comment:
Condescending. Not a good teacher, expects you to know everything right off the bat. Helpful and nice during office hours (sometimes - if alone), but does not understand why students 'don't get it'. Often laughs or scoffs at student concerns. take microeconomics with literally any one else or be prepared to teach yourself and still do badly.

He is honestly one of the worst professors I've ever had. Waldman is extremely condescending in class when students ask questions and is not helpful at all. His textbook is full of errors and is very hard to understand. The lectures are extremely fast-paced and are not helpful at all. Do not take micro with him, I promise that you will regret it.

Waldman is a funny guy, but is not the best professor. Sometimes he is disrespectful to people's questions (in AND out of class,) his lessons are super fast paced, he grades really harshly, you're only graded off of three tests, and he HATES admitting that he's wrong. He's like an intimidating grandpa who talks too much politics at Thanksgiving.

I don't understand how it is so hard to find a competent econ professor. He wrote the textbook too so if you thought that would be a fallback it's not because it is worded so horribly. He doesn't realize that students actually need to be taught these foreign, brand-new concepts and instead he just writes what he knows and expects you to know it too

Comment:
Prof. Waldman is a tough professor during lectures if you're not naturally gifted in econ or mathematics, but he makes up for it during one on one time. I always had the feeling he genuinely cared whether I understood the material or not during office hours and he was always extremely accessible and helpful to those who sought him out.

Very friendly guy... never saw him as aloof or condescending in class or out... he greeted me as a friend would have when I saw him at the mall a year after taking his class.

Don is the man. He makes econ a boss subject. Anyone saying he is snobby and unclear shouldn't be an econ. major. Great teacher, greater man.

Comment:
His lectures and explanations are very unclear. This may be due to his style of teaching, or another deeper reason. He is also *undeservedly* condescending, but then again I did not expect any Colgate economics professor to be as brilliant, clear and fair as Professor Baldani.

Waldman is the greatest man ever, and is very understading...i mean he's a father of two college students himself, so he knows where everyone is coming from with the amount of work and other things they have going on.

Comment:
When asked for a bulleted list of points he was looking for during grading exams and presentiatons, he was unable to produce an "objective" list and was very vague as to the "correct" answer. Bias plagues his grading, and his favorite students repeatedly receive the better grades. Don't try to argue with him either, it won't get you anywhere!

Although a pleasant man outside of the classroom, Waldman distances himself from his students. He refused to meet with me for 2 weeks to discuss a presentation, citing that he was too busy with personal matters, yet he demands manadtory attendance. He needed to revaluate whether he was in London on vacation or here for his students.

Great teacher. True that he doesn't like to get contradicted or argued with about a problem, but doesn't mind answering questions at all and will try to show you where you went wrong or what you could do better. Was my advisor for a reason, I liked him
