I'm not sure about his other classes, but MODL 221 was really easy. He posted notes covering everything talked about in class. The exams are blue book but everything is from the notes. The class is basically just a discussion about what we are reading. I didn't read and made A's on all the exams just from listening in class and studying his notes.

I'm always excited to go to his class because he makes the lecture interesting and really fun! He is a little bit of a harsh grader on exams and will give pop quizzes randomly, but he isn't over the top about it and I feel like he's very fair. I loved his class and would totally take him again!

Really knows what he is talking about, and he has a great, dry sense of humor. He is not afraid to tell you you're incorrect when you answer a question. By reading the plays while watching the movie and studying his posted notes, the blue book exams were easy. Short answer questions and paragraphs (but the prompts have already been homework!).

Probably the hardest UCC class at TAMU. However, if you show up and read the books you will learn a ton. If you don't like Shakespeare do NOT take this class.

This prof was great for ENGL 221 - World Literature. I actually enjoyed coming to class and hearing him teach. There was lots of reading to do every night, but all the books we read were all excellent. Tests are all short answer and essay. If you do the reading and study a bit before each test you should do fine. Overall very enjoyable.

I sincerely enjoyed this class, because the prof knows his stuff well and is interesting. He posts his notes on ecampus, so if you study those, you'll be fine. His tests are about 3/4 short answer and 1/4 essay, and there are only 3 of them. Don't come to class without reading or looking over the material, though, because he'll know if you didn't.

He goes into SO MUCH detail with Shakespeare, if you go to class, take notes, and pay attention, you will have all the answers for the test. It seems like a lot to study, but in reality a study guide will make the written test a breeze. He likes to pepper ask students questions, so be sure you at least know the plot line of the play.

Be prepared to go to class and read. He truly cares about Shakespeare. Although he may come off as a bit arrogant, his abilities in regards to teaching are exceptional. His exams are short answer/essay based so I will always know Shakespeare's birthday is April 23rd, 1564. So if you want a good grade in the course, be prepared to work for it.

This prof loves Shakespeare. The class is lecture heavy, and if you participate in class he will know your name and engage with you throughout the semester. If he asks you a question know the answer! Keep up with the readings, it's easy to fall behind & STUDY HARD for the tests. Not many grades in this class and tests are all free response.

This prof is very into himself. He somehow manages to talk about his own accomplishments for at least 10 minutes every class--even if it doesn't even remotely relate to the course. Exams are essay-based (be prepared to write!). Lectures were rather dry. Grades fairly on essays/tests.

SO HARD. I'm not a english major so I found Shakespeare super hard. 150 word response due each week and 2 tests (30 questions, all short answer). He just read through the play and said exactly what it meant. Took at 8am and found it hard to stay awake. Interrupted students while they were talking and TA did a lot of the work.

I took his Shakespeare class and enjoyed it. Make sure you go to class and take good notes. Studying is required to get an A. The things he went over in class were always on the tests. You have 3 tests and 5 online posts. The tests require written answers in a blue book but don't let that scare you. I would recommend this class for sure!

His Shakespeare class was enjoyable and as long as you went to class, you had the information needed for the exams. He loves to interact with the class but don't raise your hand for a question if you aren't prepared to answer all of them! Would only suggest taking it if your like shakespeare as the class covers 7 plays. Overall would take it again.

Great class overall. Makes Shakespeare very clear and interesting. You have to go to class to know what he finds important about each play you read. Only three exams, short answer & essay but pretty general.

I took Shakespeare with him and learned so much. His tests were long), but if you know your stuff, not hard at all. If you get keywordsconcepts on the essay, he gives you full credit on them. I will definitely take a class from him again in the future.

He is extremely self-centered and condescending. He teaches out of a book that he wrote, so you may not have any opinion different from his. You cannot use the restroom in his class. He hushes you before you are finished responding to a question he asks, and he has a terrible attitude problem and has said some inappropriate things to my classmates.

Boring. Not very intellectually stimulating and the class is full of dull moments. The material isn't very difficult, but it enduring the class is. Your grade consists of 2 exams and the final. No quizzes/attendance. Tests are mostly essay. You need the book.

To take his class, you need a good standing in history. His exams are mostly essay type, but he covers everything in class...so all you need to do is pay attention.
