Comment:

Worst Professor ever. Grades as hard as possible and loves to take points off. One tiny mistake on a question and he takes off 80% of the points. Cant teach or explain anything, especially the complicated stuff. Ask a question and he points to what he wrote and says see, keep asking and he gets mad and says i dont understand the question. Useless

I've had him for 3 different classes. 2 of which were the usually homework and exam class. He grades tough, but not too hard like everyone makes it sound. His grading scale is super in your favor. 90-100: A. 80-89: B+ . 70-79: B. All the classes have that scale and you can only fail if you make below a 30%

Comment:

Dr. Ekong is not as terrible as I've heard from some upperclassmen. He was OK during the first half of the semester. However, when it came to difficult concepts, he didn't bother to elaborate and made the material extremely confusing. His grading is also pretty unreasonable. Be honest, I think he is just trying to take advantage of his tenure.

I would avoid taking him as a professor if it is an option. I had him for Digital Logic and Microcomputer Fundamentals. My main problem with him is that he is not a reasonable human being. He isn't very helpful and treats you as inferior.

Dr. Ekong has a very hard accent and monotone voice. He grades like a computer. If one part is wrong, he will most likely count off more than %80 of the problem. If you miss something on a 10 pt question, you will most likely get a 1 out of 10. Grades test out of 27 points. You miss 4 points and get a B+. The grading scale saves everyone's grade.

Do not let his classes sneak up on you. It may seem simple at first, but his grading will pick any tests or assignments you do apart with little to no scale of points. Missing 1 part of a 10 part question will likely get you 14 credit. Tough to get any help also

Ekong will help you if you ask him outside of class. His accent makes him sometimes difficult to understand. He teaches strictly from powerpoints.

A lot of people complain about Dr. Ekong, but he is one of my favorite professors. His homework grading varies, but his tests are almost exactly the homework and notes that he gives and he prints out his power-points for you to fill in the blank.

I would not recommend taking Ekong. He counts an answer wrong on assignments and tests if you do not do it the EXACT way he wants it done, even though you may be right. Does not help at all. Very hard to understand. DO NOT BE LATE TO CLASS

Never have I ever been more frustrated with a 'professor'. This man cannot teach, will not answer any question whatsoever, and assumes you know the lesson before he teaches it. You can forget about anything being explained in this class and are better off learning this course from your peers rather than listening to his useless babbling in class.

I will never take this professor again for ANY class. He is very rude and unhelpful. I have been active duty military and in the National Guard for 8 years now and I have met airmen right out of high school who perform their jobs with more professionalism. Enough said.

Yeah, he is a pretty bad professor. I think he looks forward to people coming late to class or their cell phones going off so he can yell at them. If at all possible, avoid his class! His english is not good, he talks slow, and he talks to you like you are stupid. =/

Ekong doesnt grade fairly. I received 1 out of 10s on some assignments even though I put a great deal of time into my homework. Made me feel like not finishing the homework on some occasions. Ekong doesnt like taking different approaches on writing programs. He assumes you already have C++ background and will refuse to answer the simplest questions

The material for the class I got, but he would come up with dumb questions for the test that no one would know. I don't think that anyone ever actually finished a test they were so long. Oh and never be late. ever. If at all possible avoid this teacher. He is by far the worst teacher/professor that has ever lived.I hated that class because of him.
