Makes you question what you are spending money on. Great class for slackers because she rants and doesn't care about attendance. Maybe it's because I took a great ethics class in high school, but I didn't learn a damn thing, except her take on all the day's headlines.

Great person and I really like her teaching style. She doesn't stick to the book, but I think that's better. Its a great learning experience that we spend more time on current event issues. Her focus on learning how ethics apply today is a much better approach than by the books. Her sense of humor is a plus too. Quick email response as well

I'm usually pretty patient with teachers, but Donna really pushes it. She is not cut out to teach ethics. Her heart is in the right place, she's a sweet lady and I agree with what she says 99% of the time, but she says it in a belittling, holier-than-thou way. she rambles about how much she respects us, but interrupts constantly. waste of time.

lets see, she likes to talk, so just listen. if you are into just listening for about an hour three times a week then you have no problem getting a B+.If you like to listen to people brag about what they have done, then she pretty good at that too. And best of all, if you like to listen to people interrupt tour guides in mid-tour, then Jackpot

She is more than a teacher; she is also a mentor and friend. She answers emails promptly, even ones late in the evening. She will challenge your thinking and make you a better person because of it. I loved her to bits. She makes me want to be a journalist even more now.

She was a cool lady, but the class was unfocused. The syllabus was confusing and we only talked about Boston(The topic of the class) a few times and never what we were supposed to be talking about. She was an awsum person tho.

Donna had a plethora of information to share, although her polemics got a little tedious right after 9/11 and we never actually studied The History of Journalism until the last week of class. And I heard she dated Andre the Giant??

Donna is a lovable whacko. She was a great professor for Aesthetics and Media Crit. - a hard subject to teach. She mentored me and was a positive influence on my life.

One of two teachers who have had a lasting impact on my life at Emerson. It is unfortunate that she teaches freshman, because many students that age are not able to understand the importance of things she is teaching. "Comfort the afflicted and afflict the comfortable."

This class was on the city, but I think we actually talked about it once. We just go on and on and on about either Jewish people and religion or the history of broadcast journalism. both boring and having nothing to do with the class. and they syllabus is a joke. donna will drive you nuts.

Donna knows her stuff and is very interesting when she sticks to the class material. She does need to learn to listen to the opinions of others, as much time was spent listening to her opinions. Still a cool lady though.

I had her for discovering journalism. I failed every single news quiz that we ever had to take in that class, and some how I still managed to get an A for the class. Just so long as you do the rest of the work and you actually show up to class, there is no need to worry about your grade.

Danna Halper is nuts....I'm sorry to say this but she really is. Discovering Journalism should be change to "We Hate the President 101" or "Donna's Opinion Hour". I don't think I learned a single thing. Also, beware of the news quizzes b/c she will try to trick you. This class sucked!

The most boring class! Every day was a waste of time talking about nothing important. It wasnt until the end of the semester for only a handful of days that we even talked about class material. All the books we had to read were non-engaging. Shes really nice, but the class is a cure for insomnia.
