Doug Knapp is an excellent teacher if you are not afraid of actually learning something instead of just showing up for class and expecting a passing grade. Doug is also wonderful as a person as well.

Doug Knapp is an awful teacher, and this is coming from someone interested in logic (PHIL 1120) who got an A in his class. He doesn't know his own subject. He blatantly got multiple things wrong and refused to admit mistake. His tests are difficult if you don't already know the material since his teaching is incredibly boring.

I admit, he was not particularly clear in his expectations. Yet, the texts he uses and the information he exposed me to were of tremendous value. Just come to class every day, offer something in discussions, and respond thoughtfully to the essays.

knap is an awesome old hippie. you can tell he spent alot of time sitting in corcles back in the day, but he is passionate and kknowledgable about his field and even though his calss can be boring it is completely educational

Horrible teacher!!! Put me to sleep- rambled on about nothing! Extremly tough grader and when you ask for help you got nothing but a black stare back! DO NOT take this class unless you don't care a bout the grade and need a good nap!

Mr. Knapp is extremely dull. He says "Um", "Ah", "Mm K" etc. a lot. He lost three of my papers, one of them twice! Also, he never had current grades available. I attented class everyday and did the readings, but he tested on such minute details that it was impossible to do well.

"His lecture style is boring at best, and he says "um" and "nevertheless" every other sentence. He makes Ben Stein from the dry eyes commercial seem exciting in comparison." ...I couldn't have put it better myself... I have averaged his "UH" and "UM" count to about 10 a minute... Absolutely no eye contact and reiterates the same point over and over

Had Ethics. He is so hard to follow due to his monotone voice and roundabout way of speaking that you're better off reading the book. We had NO debate about ethical issues, just textbook outlining of various philosophies. On top of that, he scheduled entire class periods around irrelevant political banter, inserting his own opinion the whole time.

Doug is quirky and funny- most people just don't get him. An absolute intellectual who has a genuine passion for the real issues of this world. He knows his stuff and you will learn a ton. I did and I will never look at the world in the same way.

Good class to take to fullfill requirements. If you attend and do the reading, you will get an A. The subject is interesting, but the format is boring. Let the students take the lead and I don't mean have them read the text out loud to us. Get groups talking. The class did open my eyes a lot about the subject and has influenced me.

Boring teacher. He'll make you wish for re-runs of that 70's show uggh. I like the assigned readings. Tests are easy if you read the material.Attendance is very important. Helpful if you ask, but he will not let you slide; he is very old fashioned...boring & old fashioned, that speaks volumes.

Doug was tough but the topic is cmplex if you don't wanna seriously ask yourself and submit your ideals and values to the test don't take this class. He is also a tough grader and I took a C but overall I wasn't the best student at the time. I still read the text sometimes.
