As an English Major, I was required to take a science class and I choose Chemistry and had him as my professor. Hes a GREAT guy and his test are EASY. And this is coming from someone who hates science. He gave us extra credit for on a test because he forgot to wear his tie. He wants ALL his students to pass. Lets you create cheat sheets. Easy A.

He is good if you have taken chemistry already. I had never taken it and all of the group work and activities made it hard to learn. His lectures are not super clear and he Is not good at clarifying in class. The group work i felt confused everyone more. not much homework and is done in groups. Take if you already understand chem and hes an easy A.

He is one of the nicest,most charming people I've met, but god does this man get off topic so quick and he can't answer a question straight forward. He has these activities that I felt like never help me with the material instead of just explaining it in a better way. But, he wants to you succeed and he won't fail you. He is caring

This guy will not help you at all. You're basically thrown into the subject with no guidance. The books is your only hope and getting B equals success in a class like his. Honestly, avoid him at any cost. This guy understands the material but make sure that you don't to make him feel better about himself. Please stay away from him.

Dr. Quarless is a wonderful guy who truly loves his students. He teaches vis power point but read the textbook before coming to class. He makes you work in group to teach each other how to do problems, which can make the material confusing. labs are ok, he grades fairly. Gives extra credit. "Be prepared for the day of the big race"

Cares about his students doing well but has a bad way of showing it. He doesn't really teach. He expects his students to teach themselves. Basically he saves for every hour of class time, his students should dedicate two hours of studying for the course. DO NOT TAKE HIM.

it would be my worse misfortune to take this guy again,ever.he cannot teach and is confusing."niceness" does not equate ability to teach(and he was very rude to me because he didn't like me). also to teach chem you need to be clear, he is not.everyone cheats and he allows it. there i said it. Sincerely nice professor,helpful in and out of class and good role model. Out of all the professors I know in the science dept, I want to grow up to be just like him. He had a positive impact in the lives of many students that is still felt many years after taking his class.

He puts up discussion boards on angel, does group work,and goes over powerpoints. This is chemistry its hard stop complaining and study what he gives you and there's no way you won't do good Anyone that is complaining cannot blame the subject on the Professor who is trying his best to teach. Dr. Quarless provide us with preparation work on Angel by putting up power point slides for each chapter, giving activities from the activity book, opening discussion boards where good answers would be awarded, and also making up practice tests. He does all this on his OWN time because he CARES and WANTS all his students to succeed and learn!

Dr. Quarless is truly a GREAT professor that cares for his students and gives many opportunities for his students to redeem their grades. Almost all chemistry and physics courses curve! I have taken Wu, the other chemistry prof at OW and getting a 29.5 was a C! Chemistry is not easy, U cannot slack!

hes a really nice guy but has NO IDEA how to teach... uses Angel a lot to communicate and 1st test curve - 35pts added 2nd - 30 pts added and third test 'he said he was mad at us when he made it' so i think it was 50pts added + opportunity for 3 extra credit question... great in lab though goes really hard on analysis there. = good guy bad teacher

ok so i dont want to be mean but this guy doesnt know how to teach in a way that we will understand. He is extremely nice and always happy, but it is impossible to understand the way he teaches. he also goes off on random topics that are TOTALLY irrelevant to what we are learning. I've been relying on the textbook for the entire class.
