Gutierrez is a gem! I am so glad that I got to take Spanish 1 and 2 with him because I think I would have been miserable learning this language with anyone else! He is so caring and sweet, and he honestly does care about his students. To pass his class is simple, bring your textbook, study the information he goes over, and write down what he writes

Show up, pay attention, study the vocab and verb conjugations. It is an easy A. His exams are one page that are directly from the textbook. Professor Gutierrez is such a sweet man and is always willing to work with you. Cooperative, understanding, and interesting. Take his class!

Adorable, good hearted, believes in students. But...... his class was sooooo boring. And he wasn't that great at explaining the material. I had him for a three hour night class. It killed me. He gets off track a lot, and has ended lectures before with a long winded discussion about the existence of extra terrestrials.

I really enjoyed this class. Learned some basic Spanish and Latino culture in different pasts of the world as well. High amount of memorization. You either know the vocabulary and grammar or you'll bomb his exams which are straight forward exercises that were done in class. Would recommend him and plan on signing up for the advance classes.

If you want an A in the class by just sitting there for an hour and learn absolutely nothing, take the class. All you do for an hour is read word for word from the textbook, no homework, and occasional tests. I don't understand how that qualifies as learning. Really pointless class. So disappointed.

All he does is lecture and does not clarify the material or bother helping students understand. He lets students talk in class while he teaches thus making it hard to learn. If that's your learning style then go for it but I don't recommend him if you're serious in learning a new language.

I took this class fall and all he did was lecture after test , lecture after test!! He didn' tknow what the hell he was doing... He can't even teach students who have no prioir experience with foreign language .... he can't really reach out to everyones learning styles.. he expects you to know his stupid worthless tests that I felt didnt motivate

So I took him for spanish 101 and failed, and then passed with a B with Cowan, so then I thought I learned more so took Spanish 102 with him and failed it as well and went to Cowan's and past it, he does not give assignments and you can't lear, Cowan makes you do the practice and you learn so much better trust me on this you do not want to take him

I took Spanish 101 to fill a requirement. Mr. G. was very cooperative, understanding, and interesting. He is very knowledgeable. Because it was a quick summer session course it was very fast paced. I was able to keep up but studying was a must. All around good instrctor.

Ok, i took this class because i thought it was going to be easy. I was wrong. His tests are terrible and he can not teach. He needs to retire. I took spanish for 4 years in Hs, and aced it. I took spanish for one semester at OCCC, and it destroyed my love for spanish.

Mr. G is great. Just be sure to study for the exams. He doesn't give out practice homeworks so the practice is up to you. Learn ALL the vocab for each chapter exam. The vocab grade can be an easy A. I strongly recommend taking his class.

Mr. Guiterrez is awesome! My favorite part of the class is when he just asks us questions and we have to answer them.. Its the best way to learn.. and the class goes by so fast.. Hes funny with a great accent. I am minoring in Spanish so i take a great interest.. but someone who is just taking it who needs to take it still will have a blast!

G-man is the best! Although there was 6 people in my Italian class we were like a family. We always had great discussions and parties...in Italian of course :/ He's a fair grader and very linent. Also I recommend study abroads with him...to Italy and Spain.
