Comment:

He's very rude and boring. I had him at 8am and dreaded coming to class everyday. Always spoke to me about being late even though when I was it'd be a few minutes, since I'm a commuter. Do not recommend him at all unless you're willing to go the extra mile he didn't.

Almost done with his class and I'm so thankful to be out of there. Most boring and agonizing class that I have. He's rude and gets annoyed when no one participates so if you don't like talking in class, your participation grade is screwed. I wouldn't recommend him to anyone. His projects are a ton of work so don't procrastinate. Rent the book.

I took him as a last resort and it's definitely not as bad as I thought it would be but he's not someone I would want to have again as a professor. He EXPECTS you at the very least for you to know 100% of the terminology. Take notes, read the book thoroughly and pay attention. I wouldn't even bother bringing a laptop.

Prof. Alter is by far my favorite professor at FIT!! He really knows his stuff!! Many of the assigned projects are a lot of fun and not hard work at all! I benefited so much from taking his course. I really felt like I learned a lot. I HIGHLY recommend him. You get 2 absences per semester. Easy grader.

There are so many bad experiences I had with this class but I can't go through every detail in 200 characters. Trust me. Do not take this professor. He only goes over terms from textbook. Extremely rude person. Can't teach. Talks over students. Doesn't give study guides. Uses department test. Absolutely nothing good came from this class.

The class is pretty easy. You read a chapter each class and the book is easy to read. There are 2 tests and a final, as well as a group project. Make sure you pick good people. Professor Alter is an old guy who can be pretty funny and asks questions that make you think. Just answer his questions and do your work and you'll be fine.

Ed Alter is the best teacher I have ever had the privilege of having. He has real world experience and makes class and learning a pleasure. While the class is difficult, it is completely worth it and you will graduate feeling prepared for the fashion industry. Take this class for an education and a good time. PS: He is hilarious!

DO NOT TAKE HIM! He is by far the worst professor you can have. I dropped his class 6 weeks in. He is rude and not helpful. He interrupts you while your talking, and makes you feel like you aren't good enough. If you have him, drop his class as soon as possible. He wont help you with anything, and enjoys watching his students struggle.

Don't know why people are complaining. This was my favorite class last semester, he taught me so much and lets you know EXACTLY WHAT TO STUDY. Don't be lazy and READ. He has a lot of experience and is a very intelligent business man.

This professor is by far the most diffult that I've dealt with in my college years. He isn't clear with what material that is on test and hes a very hard grader. Honestly, he did help me at some point but overall it didn't make a difference. If you don't pass his tests, you are guaranteed to fail!

I'm not sure why people think this class is hard. He tells you exactly what's going to be on the test - if you do well then you get a good grade. However, as a teacher, he's pretty useless. You'll do better to take the class online as he has no fashion experience whatsoever.
