He is arrogant. He reads from his own personal writings a lot and talks about how great he is. I like to write but these assignments were a joke... not challenging at all. If you want an easy A with a teacher who is laid back but you don't want to grow as a writer or learn a damn thing then sure, this class is for you.

Quirky personality makes the class an interesting experience. Eli has a fairly natural and organic teaching style, helping you develop creative ideas and perspectives if that is what you're hoping for. Take this class if you have an honest interest in exploring creative writing. An easy class for those who want to just do the work and pass.

I took his class in Fall 06. He is very cool, great teacher...Eli is different than other professor, but you will like him alot. Go to class, submit 4 essays..you will be fine. He doesn't teach many classes and it is hard to petition because it is full :)

I must've skipped about 10 classes and still managed to get a B. Just do the 3 essay assignments and come to class, this guy just tells stories after stories. Great teacher.

Eli doesnt seem like your typical college professor at all. i thought he was another student the first time he was walking up. . his stories about life are great to hear. particpate and attend class regulary and you will pass. i didnt do half the assignments and i still got a B. If you are a creative person.you will enjoy eli.

I normaly hate these classes be he really cleared my mind with the way he taught. The way he teaches may seem like entertainment, but it really make you think about how something so ordinary and be so exciting just by the way you write it. If you take any creative writing class, I highly recommend taking his.

Eli is by far the nicest teacher on campus. He's very understanding and intelligent. His class is fun and inspiring, and most of the time it doesn't seem like class at all. I don't know about his other english class, but if you're going to creative writing, take him. You'll have a blast!

This class is not what you expect from an Enlish class, However Eli is entertaining and he gives good reading material. He is not a teacher that shoves ideas down your throat, he expects you to learn by listening and observing. I got a B and really didnt try to do anything, probly could have got an A if i tried.

I've got to admit Eli is one of the few entertaining teachers. However, this class is by no means easy. I mean, I don't even know how to get an A. Maybe do your best and cross your fingers? There is no standard in which Eli grades you by. Maybe the couple of essays you write about absolutely nothing that has to do with English.

Eli is a cool teacher. However, BE WARNED. If you are majoring in anything that involves writing, ie. Journalism, Teaching, Law, Medical, etc. don't take this class. It will only hurt you as you won't learn a single thing. I would honestly ask the people in here what they "learned so much" about. We dont read books, or learn to write period.

This is one of the easier class that i have ever taken. No hw, no research, just 4 easy essays throughout the semester. You will not learn how to write a good essay if you take this class, but if you want to boost up your GPA without learning anything, then this class must be right for you.

This class is more difficult than it seems. Eli is a cool guy but let's be serious, it's so hard to get an A or B. Also, if you're not planninig to take anymore English classes after Eng 100, then by all means, take him. If you are, then you will be in a world of trouble. Take it from me, I know. Eli's class will not prepare you for Eng 101.
