Comment:

No consideration for student needs or opinions. She is rude to her class and argues her point even if it's wrong. I was looking forward to the class, but her personality ruined it. I strongly do not recommend.

Comment:

Professor Burt is one of the tougher teachers you"ll have. Make sure you read the textbook because she gives pop quizzes on the readings. She's very opinionated so don't take it personally if she shuts down your opinions.

She doesn't listen, she argues adamantly for her own viewpoint even after she is proven wrong, and she forgot who I was about two months after class ended. I do NOT recommend her classes to ANYONE.

Here is the thing about Dr. Burt: She gives back to her students what they put into her class. If you listen to her lectures, do the assignments the right way and attend class, she'll give you good grades and feedback. If you don't care, she'll write you off and give you poor grades. Comm majors should take her because they'll learn a lot.

Comment:

This woman is the antithesis of what makes a good college professor. She not at all well spoken nor is she well written (she consistently misspells words). She is very opinionated, which isn't initially a bad quality, but coupled with her refusal to acknowledge others opinions the classroom experience tends to grow frustrating. I do not recommend.

I did not enjoy her class one bit. I tried to drop it but I couldn't. She is VERY rude, and doesn't care about student opinion. This class was suppose to be a "college starter" for freshmans, but she turned it into something else. She does not clearly state what she wants with papers.I would not take ANY of her courses!

Comment:

Had her for a first year seminar, worst teacher and worst experience I've ever had in school. Opinions other than her own are wrong, are she is inconsiderate when it comes to grading. Too much work and she states from the first day that to her, this is your only class. No respect for students. Don't take class with her.

I had her for an FYS class, a class that is supposed to introduce freshman to topics outside of their major. This class was absurd the teacher expected constantly changed rubrics on the syllabus and we were expected to answer 25 multiple choice questions and two 400-500 word essays in less than two hours, which is impossible. She was ridiculous!

THE WORST TEACHER I HAVE EVER HAD IN MY ENTIRE LIFE! DO NOT I repeat DO NOT take her. She is rude, has outdated teaching methods/material and is an impossible grader. Let's put it this way-the woman corrected a quote I used from another source. I tried to explain to her that it wasn't my phrasing but my works cited and she still gave me a D.

This teacher was THE WORST teacher that you can possibly. She was unhelpful, rude and not up to date with the current times. She bashes your ideas and switches stories completely to her liking. DO NOT TAKE HER. She contradicts herself with grading and overall sucks as a person in this life!

Professor Burt is pretentious and sometimes rude. However, you will learn a lot in her classes and she is willing to help. She knows her stuff and is very intelligent. At times it seems that she makes people feel stupid on purpose. Her class will be a challenge.

She is an awful teacher and as a person she is very rude and mean. She always thinks shes right and will always have a problem with the stories you write. I absolutley dreaded every moment of this class. She is a terrible teacher, very unfair and unrealistic. She assigns huge papers with short time frames to get them done. Never take her classes.

Not a good teacher at all. Her lectures are boring and she can be very intolerant. She definitely needs to lighten up. She is way too strict for a 200-level course. I do NOT recommend taking any courses with her...most Comm students immenseley regret it. I certainly did.
