Sal's fine if you plan on becoming an orchestral player, but if you're an ed major, you won't learn much about being a conductor or leading an orchestra. Generally only has one or two ways to explain a concept, and if you don't get it, good luck. Tends to give backhanded compliments, very few real compliments. Decent guy outside of class.

Nice man! He does not use textbook, and he seems to like talk in class freely about the prolonged music history throughout the western civilization. He is always willing to help. Tests are based on in-class speaking notes, not too hard. Final requires writing the outline of the course. Additional 15 listening hours are needed for whole semester.

scarpa knows everything. he really knows what he is talking about, and is very understanding. he does love to talk, but knows when to get to business too. his tests are hard if you dont study, but learn the material, and everything will be fine.
