Mrs. E is probably one of the best teachers I've had in the polysci dept. she's very clear on what she expects from you. She is very knowledgable about other courses and teachers. She wants you to do well in her class but you must work for it.

One of the best professors I've had. This is not an easy A but I've taken her twice and would take her again in a heartbeat. If you're considering law school, this is THE professor to take.

Professor Elizabeth is one of the best professors I ever had!The previous comments about her(that she grades harder the female students,threat to Christianity etc)are such a non sense!She is fair grader and want every student to be successful!Very knowledgeable and makes the class very interesting!Would definitely recommend!Cases are very important

Comment:

Gives extra credit for attending all classes, does not excuse academic events. Lecture style uses lots of lame examples and she brags about how she defended an establishment from a woman who got her nose bit off. She seems to grade harder on female students. If you don't attend all the classes, you will need the text. Hated going to this class.

I've take Mrs. E for three classes now and she is one of my favorite teachers. She's not extremely easy but she's pretty common sense. Usually pretty clear. I learned a lot and would definitely recommend

Esinhart is a great professor. She is extremely helpful and fair and her lectures are clear and concise. If you go to class, take notes, and are willing to put in a little bit of work you're pretty much guaranteed to do well. You will have to do some reading, but the books that she assigns are fairly easy and quick reads.

Comment:

Prof. Esinhart is one of the greatest professors at ODU. You have to do a criminal case study, a civil case study, read 3 interesting books, do 1 book analysis (very informal)from one of the books, and take the midterm and final. Its a lot of work but very rewarding. I got an A, but it was challenging. I loved her class and I am taking her again.

She is by far my favorite teacher. She presents the subject material in an easy to learn and understand way. Go to class and takes notes and you will do fine. She never actually uses the book, but the book reinforces everything in class. Definitly take her if you have the opportunity.

Ms. Esinhart is the best professor that I have had. I developed a huge interest in whatever topic she we were discussing in class. The class was class discussions where she encouraged all to contribute and never was demeaning to anyone. Her tests require an average amount of studying, about right for what a college class should require. Take her!!!

In reference to the comment below about her being a threat to christianity....its crap! I am a devout Catholic and NEVER did she offend me or speak of ANY religion negatively. The only thing remotely tied to religion she stated was that she is Pro Choice. I suggest you open your mind to the different view points of the world! GREAT professor!

She is an AMAZING professor. Her syllabus looks intimidating, but its really not that bad. 3 short answer/essay tests, journal every week thats collected twice, and one interview paper with a presentation. She knows her stuff and has fun teaching it to her students. Class is rarely boring, and its very stimulating. TAKE HER!

This is my second Esinhart class, and I love her! Her classes are challenging, but if you pay attention, her expectations are clear. Her tests are not easy by any means, but if you do the case briefs, you can bring them on test day! She's very compassionate and genuine. A great teacher & mentor.

She is very understanding and will help you only if you help yourself. The tests and journals are very easy, you really don't have to read much. Talk to her to get clarification on what is expected for tests.
