Comment:

To this day, Dr. Yetiv is the best professor I have ever had. He uses Socratic methods to teach which prepares students for higher education and forces them to gain an understanding of the material. 3 tests, one paper, one presentation. All are very hard but he prepares you well. He is also very flexible and understanding.

This class was really interesting and definitely gave more perspective to energy with a major focus on oil in particular. Smaller class during the summer which is great. Very interesting and rewarding class.

Dr. Yetiv is one of the best professor i have had so far, i would look forward to his class! He is so funny, and i just loved this guy! I would definitely take him again.

Comment:

He doesn't use power points so you have to write down everything he says. The books are kind of pointless unless you use one of them for the presentations. I wasted money buying one book & didn't buy one. Doesn't give much direction on 20 pg paper so you're on your own unless you ask questions. Dr. Yetiv is very knowledgable & a good teacher.

He doesn't use powerpoint so you have to either write or type everything that comes out of his mouth. He knows a lot about IR theory & he's a great teacher. His exams aren't bad but try to skim the readings for the final. The books are somewhat pointless if you're willing to take a risk. I liked the class overall but I felt like he had faves.

LOVE this guy. One of the best teachers I've ever had but you must be willing to work for a good grade. He is straight forward in regards to what he expects on assignments and exams but you have to think about the material. He is a well educated and interesting guy who has met many famous politicians in his day.

BEST Political Science Professor at ODU! He is extremely interesting and funny! He lectures the entire time and is very clear about tests and papers on what he is looking for. You must attend class to get a good grade. He speaks very well and puts hard subject matter into terms the average person can understand. Again, GREAT PROFESSOR!

I took three courses with Dr. Yetiv. IR Theory during fall 2009. Energy class in summer 2010 and finally Interdependence and transnationalism during spring 2011.He is very helpful, clarity of thoughts, nice recommendation of literature and very participatory approach. I truly enriched with his classes.

I wish I would have taken a class with Dr. Yetiv earlier in my studies at ODU. I would have enjoyed my time much more. He is hard but knows the subject matter like the back of his hand. He tries hard not to show his political views or biases. I would definitely recommend him. IR theory could be extremely boring, but he does his best to spice it up.

Great knowledge of the subject matter. Invited students to think critically and share their view points. As a Foreign Service Officer, I now can look back and appreciate the level of instruction that Dr. Yetiv provided, and the critical level of analysis he expected from the student.

He is not friendly at all so don't even try to be with him. BUT, he's a good teacher. Attend all classes or you won't do well. He's not there to blind-side you, but also isn't the type who "wants everyone to do well." He wants to rank students in his mind, and he KEEPS you in the place that he found you in first. So make a good impression 1st.

Incredibly intelligent and nice guy. Will answer any question and explains things clearly. Lots of class discussion. Must take notes during class, they will def help on the exams. Didn't like how he had his grad student grade exams and teach a couple classes bc she wasn't very clear or friendly. Always skipped class when she taught. Still got an A.

Very intelligent and easy to listen to. Often makes jokes in class, which is a good thing, not too dry. Tests are not easy. Books not a neccessity go to class and take notes.
