Comment:

Great coding teacher! Textbook is optional, not mandatory. You get a kit with the supplies you need for the class. Quizzes are like the HW, just coding problems. Quizzes are easy if you do the HW and your allowed to use your notes and she helps you a bit. No final exam. Very lenient on due dates. She doesn't reply to emails over the weekend.

Comment:

Dr. Horvath is the best professor this school has to offer. If you are interested in computers and see an opening for one of her classes. I suggest that you take her. I am a computer science major and took her for Python with Raspberry Pi and her class changed my life. She gave me all the tools I need to be a successfully software developer .

Comment:

One of the best coding professors at PBSC. She is knowledgable, passionate, and helps EVERY student. You learn so much! Hard but I'm prepared for my transfer Univeristy. Go to slc each week with Marty! She is very fast. Gives networking/internship opportunities during the semester. Lenient grader. Resubmissions allowed. The class was awesome.

Comment:

Amazing teacher and she really knows a lot about the course. A lot of hw but she isn't strict on due dates. No final or midterm. Only chapter quizzes and the written parts are bonus points. Let's you record her quiz reviews and the quiz review is what's exactly on the quiz. Gives a lot of extra credit. Class is mostly lectures.

Comment:

The most intelligent, caring, and inspirational professor I've ever had. She gives me the motivation to continue computer programming. If you attend class you will most definitely learn. If you do the homework you will pass the test easy, and her homework assignments are reflective of the lectures so if you attend class HW's are doable.

Dr. Horvath is amazing, her years of experience shows. She is intelligent, cares about the learning experience, fair, knowledgeable, and forgiving. Few teachers touch you in life and make you want to be better, this teacher is one of them. Class moves very fast, but life also moves fast and if you don't keep up you get left behind.

The class pace was too fast. Concepts were explained once, then you move on, and so much material was crammed into a class. Difficult to keep up with lectures because she makes you copy and type at the same time. She often starts class BEFORE the scheduled time, so don't be late. Doesn't use Blackboard, so you have no idea where your grade stands.

I took an accelerated course with this teacher and absolutely loved it. She is and amazing teacher and really cares about her students. She gives a lot of grace when it comes to homework and tests. As long as you do the homework, the tests are a piece of cake.

Simply put: Horvath is a master at programming. The amount of knowledge she has in the field will make you, hopefully, realize how much you can learn from her! She can get in-depth with some explanations which fly over many students' heads but we're all still fascinated. She grades VERY effectively, understanding that programming is tough.

She's not the easiest professor I've ever taken but she is the one of the nicest. She's also the best teacher at this school. I've had 5 classes w/her and I learned more from her than from my other teachers combined. If you are new to the subject like I was and want to get a good knowledge base then take her. (She'll work w/you on late assignments)

Comment:

This was the coolest programming class I ever took! It felt like Christmas when we got our kits. Dr. H showed us how to hook up circuits to the Raspberry Pi and operate the circuits using Python. We got to use a motion sensor and send an email when we tripped it. We put together a robot. We sent text messages. I love the Pi and I love this class.

Best teacher Ive ever had in college. Taken her for multiple courses. Be warned though, if you dont want computer science to be your major avoid her. People saying she doesnt explain her code are lying, They simply didnt ask questions, she loves explaining things. Shes all hands on and gives you everything you need to get an A in the class.

Had her for Python with Raspberry Pi, was a terrible course. every lecture was her giving us codes to use on our sense hat. Not explaining the codes themselves. I was not mad at her it is a new course at PBSC but i was disappointed because I did not get to learn Python.

Best professor I ever had!! She knows everything there is to know about the subject she teaches and is willing to help you like not many professor will , her class may be fast paced to some but then again she teaches complicated computer. The class is fairly easy just make sure to do all your hw and your extra credit work and you will pass!

Superb professor! You will learn so much from Dr. Horvath, but she teaches at a rather fast pace (and she'll keep you the whole class). Her tests are very fair and lenient, AND there's lots of extra credit on them. She is great at helping you when you need her to, and she gets along well with the students. Definitely recommended.

Absolutely best professor I've ever taken. I would take her for every single class in my degree if I could. She has so much knowledge to share and cares so much for her students, current or past. She won't let you out early but you will know so much more for it. I haven't learned half as much from other professors as I have from Dr Horvath

She goes incredibly fast even on the first day of class. You will do an installation the first day, take lots of notes, and get assigned a good amount of homework. The fast pace continues throughout the course.

She is an extremely friendly professor who is also knowledgeable and passionate about her field (IT). You have to keep up with all of the readings and assignments or else you don't have a snowball's chance in hell of passing. She goes through the material very quickly and expects you to keep up. However, she DOES offer extra credit assignments if you do poorly on her exams. In short, she is awesome. Take her courses if you can.

I'm more than confident she knows everything about I.T. She really cares about her students and will remember anything you ever tell her, its kinda scary but at the same time awesome you know she cares about what you say. She goes very fast and expects you to do homework, so don't come to her class expecting to not work on assignments at home.

Excellent professor- the most knowledgable. However, none of her classes are cake walks. You must read, do assignments, and study (study till you know the subject fluently). If your there to learn then she's great. If your there to get an A with minumum worktime then pick another teacher.
