A professor like this is hard to come by! She is VERY invested in what she teaches and strives to invest you in the material as well (if you are open enough to listen). Her assignments are well-crafted, thoughtful, and encourage you to gain a deeper understanding. Don't take her courses if you are not prepared to put in some real brainpower.

Brilliant teacher! One of the greatest musicologists of her time. The work is extremely challenging but she is a fair grader and is more than willing to help students study and complete assignments.

She was a fantastic teacher. She not only made herself available for help during office hours but provided help DURING class. Although the class was very challenging at times it was a very rewarding and interesting one.

She is the best professor in the department, hands down. Take her class if you truly want to learn about music- she is an expert in her field and is incredibly knowledgeable. Don't bother taking with her if you are one of those stupid waste of life people who want to take a music class just to get dec credit. Study hard and learn a ton!

A total B****!This course is supposed to be easy and she makes it wya more difficult than music really is. She complicates things and if you drop the class, she asks to return the 30p syllabus. Old and not worth it

Very unclear with her cracking voice. Gives****load of work for intro level class. Unclear questions for tests and quizzes, all essays.I got C+ for two midterms. Though I got an A for the course, that's prob cuz everyone else failed. Even though I respect her tremendous amount of knowledge, do not take her if you just want to satisfy DEC.

This class is definetly not an introduction class. You will to put in a lot of work to get a decent grade. She is insane on the amount of work she gives: 2 papers, 2 concert Papers, quizzes each week in Recitation, 2 quizzes in class, and 1 midterm, and a final.I would recommend you take 119 instead, if you are taking it for a dec.

In hindsight, it could have been an easy class. If only I tried. Got a B in the class because I was scrounging for grade points and actually learned a few. A lot of people complain because they don't try hard enough. She is a bit hard to learn from, as her teaching style is a bit difficult to grasp. But read before hand and attempt to learn.

Horibble teacher. ALOT of WORK. 3 midterms and requires 2 concert reports as well as a bunch of writing assignments. Definitely not an actual introductory course. Also started to have quizzes in recitation. Her class is boring and I spent too many hours writing papers. Worked hard for a C+
