This class will tank your grade. Very tough grader for speeches. Quizzes are about every week but are based on reading from 2 chapters that are too long to be worth it. Would not recommend this professor at least for public speaking.

I love Elizabeth, Shes a great public speaking professor. In advanced public speaking, she and the class will nitpick everything about your speaking, it's not for everyone. However, if you're prepared for the class it's a great learning experience.

She is very personable and caring towards her students. The work is mostly just more speeches (similar to regular Public Speaking), but there is great feedback. I had a very small class, so we got to know each other well.

Elizabeth is a really nice person who clearly cares about the subject she is teaching. Gives a lot of examples from her personal life - might be annoying for some but makes sense because this is Human Communication. She's cute depending on the day, especially if you like the mid-30's mom look. Didn't give us tests back, only got to look at them.

I suck at public speaking but managed to get 85+ on each one, and the quizzes are good grade boosters, but just make sure to read assigned chapters! Most of the quizzes are vocab based. She's amazing and keeps everyone awake with very lively lectures, and grows close to each one of her students. Definitely recommend taking her class!

O'Connor Reeves is a wonderful professor! It's a shame I didn't meet her until my 4th year! She really cares about her students and is very willing to help you through a speech draft if you attend her office hours. She comes across as tough at first, she just knows what she expects. Definitely recommend for Public Spkg over any other professor.

Elizabeth is a fantastic professor. I genuinely looked forward to her class every day, which I took during intersession. She is easy to get along with and an all around amazing instructor. I would highly recommend her, especially for public speaking during intersession.

Comment:

One of the best teachers I've had. She is very clear and loves sharing stories. Her feedback is always helpful and she is always there for you! Makes the course very interesting and fun. Would def take another class with her. Just make sure you study, do your work which is not hard and you'll get a good grade

For Public Speaking, she is just worthless. Her goal is to "help you become a better speaker" but she doesn't do this at all. She doesn't actually teach anything in this class, she goes over PowerPoints that just have basic common knowledge about speaking. Supposed to be an easy course, but if you can take it with someone else, do so.

Had her for Professional Communication for Business. Really enjoyed the class! Professor led great discussions and individual/group projects were very constructive. Very nice professor, enjoys teaching the business students--recommended!

She's an amazing teacher. She let's students run the class (sometimes) while keeping us on track. Very friendly and helpful. Her tests aren't too bad -- use her study guides (they are life savers).

For prof comm for SE, she is the only professor so taking her is inevitable. I got an A in her class, but she is a terrible professor. Takes forever to grade assignments and her grading is pretty iffy. If you ever have a choice, I would recommend taking a different professor. If you are stuck with her, getting a good grade is possible though.

I learned a lot about public speaking from her class. The textbook was referenced on the exams, and the study guides helped focus on what we should know. She was a fair grader, and her class was engaging. I would highly recommend this professor.

Comment:

Reeves changed her syllabus to include half of the class online making things much more enjoyable. I found the textbook very helpful and the lectures interesting. It was a class geared towards getting a job. Class consisted of weekly quizzes, discussions and various business documents.
