Comment:
there's so much work, and a lot of it feels entirely pointless. sometimes he makes you stay late after an already 3-hour class, his feedback is vague and unhelpful, and he doesn't really teach you, he just expects you to do it. he also has a lot of public social media supporting guns and saying climate change doesn't exist, which makes me uncomfy.

Eric is a wonderful and knowledgeable professor even if his critiques can be a little vague. He is happy to give advice on being an aspiring graphic designer. And he brings his dog, Nia, to class all the time. If you ever feel stressed, you can take a minute to play fetch and tug-a-war with Nia.

Eric can be harsh with his critiques and grades at times, but you have the chance to redo projects and everything he teaches you will stick with you the rest of your life. If you listen to what he has to say and put in the time to improve, this class will turn you into a better designer.

Eric is knowledgeable about design and since Chapman has such small classes, he was able to give personalized critiques to each student's work. He is certainly a hard grader, though, because he told me that I was one of the best in the class and I still got an A-! P.S. He brings his German Shephard, Nia, to class A LOT and she's a sweetheart!

Eric's a great guy. Pretty much built the GD curriculum at Chapman. Well respected, he is very willing to give you feedback on your work and is very honest. He can be pretty sarcastic which will make classes more interesting. He's somewhat old school when it comes to design, however, with this, students learn good technique. Overall very good.

Eric is the best teacher at Chapman University by far. He will take the time for anyone at any time. He grades you based on if you're working to your best ability and your improvement and you WANT to work hard in his class. He is very genuine and makes hilarious jokes during class. He is amazing at giving feedback and cares about every student.

Eric cares about every student in his class. I love every class I have with Eric because he's funny and helps me with every question I have. He's very understanding and light hearted. I was scared when I first entered his classes because I thought I wasn't good enough, but he assured me that I'd be fine. If you have the chance, take a class w him!

This class is by far the most difficult class I have ever taken in college. Although the design projects are great for your portfolio, the amount of work for this class is almost unbearable. Almost every kid in the class regularly pulled all nighters. He is also a crazy hard grader, so don't get your hopes up about a project. Good luck

Eric is fantastic! Great attitude, specific and experienced. Sarcastic, but in a good way. Always willing to help, allows lots of class time to work on projects, and is clear and concise in his teaching. This class is the basics of graphic design, and is therefore mandatory to a career in the field. Tests every now and then, but are easy. No study!

Eric is a good professor, has a vast knowledge of graphic design and is willing to help. He has a lot on his plate so he is not great at responding to emails and he grades pretty hard, but if you listen to directions you will get good grades and actually learn

Best prof at Chapman, hands down! His classes may be labor-intensive, but he genuinely cares about every student and wants to make you a great designer. Passionate about design and easy to talk to, Chimenti's class will teach you the value of starting designs away from the computer and help you find your personal style.
