Throughout this semester it has been nothing but pulling teeth. This professor is very behind on technology usage and has assignment in Blackboard from 2013. Blackboard has 10,000 plus points in it, how is that even possible. The professor talks about whatever he feels like talking about and does NOT teach from the book. RUN if you can.

"Mediocre at best" is a good way to describe this class. The lectures aren't great, and often times, I taught myself with the ALEKS assignments; I only went to the lectures for attendance. If you are able to place in to another class, do it.

He lagged behind a lot and then piled on two extra units of work in one week. Hes alright at teaching but goes of on tangents and takes up valuable time on things that dont matter. Half of your grade is participation and ALEKs though so its not the end of the world and the class is pretty easy. He just made an easy class time consuming

Dr. Findsen is a nice guy but might be past his time. In a growing technological world, he is falling behind rapidly. His Blackboard is very unorganized along with his lectures and instructions for HW. Makes mistakes very often and loves to go off on tangents. I would strongly suggest that you seek another professor.

This class was very stressful for me. There was a lot of material to memorize and we had one final that was worth 50% of our final grade. The professor does not really understand how BB works so you should take this class in person if you have him. The final had questions I had not read about and didnt really include the bulk of the material.

This class is 50% attendance based, and 50% comes from an assignment to meet with one of the presenters and write a paper about their research. Dr. Findsen seems extremely knowledgeable about chemistry, and if you're looking for an extra chemistry credit, this class is perfect.

STAY AWAY. I have the other chemistry teacher for recitation and she says how awful he is daily. He grades everything so hard. Puts things on the tests that have never been talked about. Puts grades on blackboard that are not correct and refuses to e-mail back. He also does not know how to use any sort of technology correctly.

Legit, the worst teacher ever. I thought it was going to be an easy A but he makes it so difficult. He can't teach to save his life, he has a lot of mistakes in his ppt and typos on tests. I took chem in highschool and that's the knowledge I'm using to stay above H2O in this class. Even other teachers are reporting him. Save your grade, stay away.

this professor is terrible. his lectures are very hard to understand and leave you very confused when class is over. there is lots of homework and he makes his exam unnecessarily difficult. i was even told to report him to the chemistry department by other chemistry teachers. avoid!

Goes off on confusing tangents, and tends to add in higher level material that leads to confusion. Does not explain things in a sensible manner, and powerpoints tend to be a jumbled mess of numbers. Online work is hard enough without having to translate from what he is saying.

Took Adv. Lab 1 with him. His lectures do not correlate to the lab experiments at ALL, but he is helpful if you go to him for help and ONLY if you go. Only 1 TA graded lab reports in a timely manner, got a total of 3/9 lab reports back after the final exam (which was hard). Overall his class was poorly organized and tedious. Would not recommend

referring to the last person's comment, i think we were in the same class because my class verage was a 50 also. However, i do not think that he was a bad teacher. he was sick for a long time so the class struggled, but he tried to help us out as much as he could. He is a good teacher.

Dr. Findsen was a great chem teacher. My class only had 8 people, and the material wasn't easy, but class wasn't intimidating at all. It easier than official pchem, but I think I was the only A despite that. Going to class was definitely worth it.

Dr. Findsen is tough, but he's a great teacher. If you want to learn something, he'll take the time to teach you. He's very personable and I wish I had him for more classes.
