This professor cares A LOT about literature. What is unique about Smith is her ability to boil dry concepts from old lit down to components identifiable to the modern student. Bringing Beowulf to 2018 is no easy task but Smith does it with ease. Her response papers are mini drafts of your term paper so she saves you a lot of time if you start early

A professor who truly is passionate about teaching the material. Taking her class re-energized my passion for my major when I felt burnt out. SHe is BY FAR my favorite professor EVER. She is hilarious and so down to earth, but educated and grades straight forward. Shes had medical issues, so she was unbelievably understanding when I had to miss class! Her assignments are very clear, she even allows re-dos for a better grade! She is very passionate and wants students to succeed!!

i loooooooove professor smith! shes super easy, super cool, and super educated about the material she teaches. she makes light of all the lessons so class is really fun. she doesnt lecture the entire time either and allows for students to lead the class at times. coursework is easy, especially if youre into it. shes pretty damn cute too...

Very random teacher. Write response/essay to each text chapter, but very liberal and grades fairly easily if you have a good point. Two group projects and a term paper for a final. Just?the discussions were really random and it sometimes seemed like we weren?t doing much. Very unstructured classes, but she?s knowledgeable on a lot of topics.

A very knowledgeable as well as understanding professor--very hard to find in college. I have heard horror stories about how other teachers conduct 380 but this professor made it very easy and enjoyable. I also learned a lot. I would definitely recommend her...for any class that she teaches.

BEST TEACHER EVER.So incredibly knowledgeable on the material,REALLY enjoys British literature and culture.Supports texts with film clips, and doesn't have textbooks bc it's all online.There are 8 reader responses to texts, and a term paper of your choice at the end- no more.Do yourself a favor and take her for ANY class possible.

Honestly one of the best teachers I have ever had! She was really nice and funny and spoke the truth. She knows what she's talking about and tells you the truth about education, even when she really shouldn't. She missed a lot of classes due to illness, but some of her essays were partners. She was really easy and great!

My favorite professor. She is passionate about the material, has a great sense of humor, and will bend over backwards for her students. She grades on what she says she will, allows open notes occasionally, and explains everything. Shows movie clips to support some texts - including watching a Simpson's episode! I'll take any class she teaches.
