Frankly, Fischer is the best professor, aside from Clinefelter. He knows his stuff, he knows students personally and by name, and hes a fantastic advisor who knows exactly what is going on. I've only had him for one class, but he is great at what he does.

He encourages participation, and will not let grad students slide with vague answers--he will probe deeper until the argument is clear. He likes to play devil's advocate, and encourages different perspectives. However, he is unclear on assignments, very critical, and seems to have an personal political agenda that counters normal grad studies.

He is an awesome professor. He is clear on what he wants and what you are required to do. He is fun loving and a little nerdy at times (which is totally a good thing)

Was an okay teacher, he was helpful, yet was hard. He did not listen to students needs, but did make history fun. Very hard but interesting class.

A LOT of reading!! If you don't like to read, or don't have the time to, then I wouldn't take his class. If you don't read all the material you will get lost...I did! He is very smart and knows what he is talking about though and makes the class fun.

He is an awesome lecturer and is able to make any topic interesting and intriguing. He tells great stories that captivate the students and keeps everyone's attention. He grades really hard, though, and only about 10% of his students get As in the class. One tip: do your reading!

Although I have only had one class with him yet, Fischer is one of the most knowledgable professors here. His involvement with the education department is wonderful admist all of the problems in that department.
