Dr. Baker is an amazing professor when I audition for Concert Choir I was so nervous but he encouraged me all the way through. Being in concert as a freshman was awesome he truly is a man of music. If you ever did choir in high school you should try out for concert choir.

Dr. Baker is great. I had him for Music Literature and he was great. Yes, sometimes he bored me to death but I learned a lot and as a music major I have to take Music History 1 and 2 with him. I went through hoops to get this dumb access code for the class. He was teaching Music Lit. because Dr. Slotkin was away for a while.

D-Bake is the man! Awesome prof! In both private voice and his choral ensembles he expects hard work from his students, but it really pays off. While he expects your best, he is hilarious and makes singing enjoyable.

hes alright.. the extra credit given in the class will raise you two spots! between that and going to a concert he makes the class pretty easy.. tough tests though he tricks ya with questions but its not a bad class take him you probably wont regret it

Music Listening- Need to memorize different pieces of music which can be difficult. However, A LOT of extra credit is given out for good attendance, and test questions are outlined directly the class before the test.

Not hard, but you have to watch the intangibles. He treats you like a BABY! It's an insult and unprofessional. In a mass lecture (200 Students) he assigns seats, and has a student worker come in twice during class and take attendance. No sleeping/phones allowed. Students seats are spread out, but he still hovers/suspects you cheat on test days.

Great teacher, take him no question I got an A in the class and i got 2 83s on the tests go to class he gives u extra credit which bumps you from a b- to b+ and gives you more extra credit during semester. Final is easy gives u extra credit on everything. I ABSOLUTELY RECOMMEND HIM.

This class is an easy A. As long as you study his note religiously, and listen to the music every night, you'll do fine. also, you get 80 pts for attendance at the end, and 40 pts for two paper assignments. SO EASY!!

the actual material in the class wasn't bad, but Baker sucks at teaching it. he assigns seats and takes attendance in a mass lecture, picks out people to answer questions, then keeps asking them until they get something wrong. horrible prof

DO NOT BUY THE BOOK!!!!!!! This is boring, but its easy. You have to study, but with the 80 pts extra credit for not missing more than two classes, and the 100 pts of extra credit on the final, easy a. But don't be lazy.

Easy professor, easy class. He gave extra credit for attendance and there were an extra 30 pts. on the final. You could fail a test and still pull off a 'B'. I'd suggest studying w/ notecards, esp. when you're listening to the numerous songs on the CD's. It will make things easier.

This class is very challenging, but you can get alot out of it if you're willing to do the work. He's a busy man with little office hours, but always stays after class and goes out of his way to help his students. I recommend him if you're up for a challenge and not looking for a free pass through a gen. ed!
