Great professor who wants you to succeed. The lecture is just him reading from the PowerPoints. I wouldnt wait until the end of the semester to do the homework. Its time consuming.

No study guides so be sure to keep good notes on everything he says. Even if he only spends a minute on something, it still might show up on the test so don't overlook any part of your notes even if he barely talked about it. Then on the other hand he may spend a lot of time on something and it not end up on the test at all. Just study everything

Gary is a very knowledgeable and professional lecturer. Great to listen to. The material is hard, but he will take the time to help you out and really explain things in a way that makes sense. Make sure to study the slides. Very approachable and easy-going. I have taken a few of his classes and he is by far the best acct teacher.

Comment:

Dr Burkette is a very laid back professor. He did not provide a study guide or much guidance at all for his tests, but they were never too difficult. Having said that, be prepared to study. If you are taking this course online, watch the modules more than once and print out the powerpoints to take notes. Really enjoyed the class I would recommend.

Really great teacher, material gets confusing, but he tries to explain it the best he can. All though his test are difficult just because you have to remember a lot of material since the course i builds up on each chapter.

Dr. Burkette has got to be the best Accounting professor at ETSU. He teaches students so that we learn the material and won't go on until we all understand it. This is how all accounting professors should be! Definitely take Dr. Burkette!

Great professor! He cares about his students and seems to enjoy teaching. His lectures are detailed, well designed, and you will learn alot. I would take him again. He is not easy, but not impossible like some others. If you study and put forth the effort in class you will get a good grade. Take Dr. Burkette!

Excellent professor! He gives clear illustrations and really desires that his students learn. The tests are a little challenging but not too difficult. He was extreemely helpful in answering any questions I had. I HIGHLY recommend this professor! Just go to class everyday and you'll do great.

Great Professor. You have to work for the grade but he doesn't make it hard or even impossible! Its just a second 2010 with a little new material each chapter. Highly recommended!

Didn't require Wiley Plus which was nice. Have to make sure to attempt the homework because it's 25% of the grade. The course can be tough, but he's very helpful in understanding the material and doesn't make tests unnaturally difficult.

Comment:

Do homework (Wiley Plus is required) and study. Exams are not easy, but are based on homework. He threw a curve ball on the final. It was over material I did not fully understand because I missed a couple of classes right at the end. Don't miss too many classes if you want to pass tests. He tests understanding of material, not what you memorize.

Dr. Burkette was by far my favorite professor. He is much more interested in your learning than most, and he is always willing to help out if you need it. His tests are pretty hard, but he will answer questions during the test as long as it doesn't give away the answer..he'll lead you to the right answer usually. Watch out for the multiple choice!

Comment:

Excellent teacher! Goes above and beyond to make sure material is clear to students. Also, anyone who can incorporate some humor into accounting, has my respect and he manages to do that. He's the first accounting professor I've had at ETSU that didn't put me to sleep. Watch out for those tests, if you don't study, they're lethal.
