Comment:

He's a decent professor. He's an older guy, almost 70; but he knows his stuff. He's strict and wants you to do the work how HE wants you to do it, not how the book tells you, so there's a little bit of confusion there. He often forgets what he went over from previous classes. His tests have questions that are meant to make you think. Tough class.

Comment:

He's rude and he's strict. Very particular about how he wants assignments turned in. He yelled at me in front of the whole class for walking in 5 minutes late, and he gave me a zero on a quiz for not showing my work in a way that he was satisfied with (I got all the questions right). Some people like him, because he's smart and funny, but I didn't.

For the non math inclined students like me who are a little afraid of calculus, take Risenhover. Very precise in his grading manner. Makes you work for your grade. Pay attention in class, do the homework, do the quizzes, and you'll pass. I'm not the best at math but made an A because I put forth the effort and studied. Wish he though Cal 2!!

Mr. Risenhoover's a good professor, he's a little direct and abrupt, I'm guessing it's from being a football coach. So if you get offended easily don't take him, but overall he was a good professor and was very clear and concise with his teaching as well as his grading criteria. If you show up to class on time and do the homework you'll do fine.

If you want to learn, take this professor. Great teacher, knows his stuff. He doesn't throw curve balls on exams or surprises. He's willing to answer homework problems ALL THE TIME. He wants you to learn. Terrific teaching style.

He is ARROGANT! But he is a pretty good teacher. In his words, "YOU WILL EARN THE GRADE YOU GET IN THIS CLASS." He will work you to the bone, but if you're completely committed...you should make an A. Also, come early or he calls you out in front of the whole class. -__-

Mr. Risenhoover is my hero! He's an alpha male and has little temper tantrums sometimes that are so funny! Great teacher! Great shirts! haha What a character! On a more serious note: He makes sure you learn. The quizzes are extremely helpful and DO YOUR HOMEWORK! You will get an A.

Great Teacher! Knows all the tricks, teaches all of them so you can use whatever is easier for you. Lots of homework and quizes, but the test are based on them, so you're prepared and it's easy. Grades available same day, that is REALLY nice. Makes Math fun. Its his passion. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!

Not an easy class, so if your a slacker don't take him. I like Mr. Risenhover, but he is fast paced, and if you ask a question he may make you feel like an idiot, I don't think he means to though. If you've had trouble with math before, you may think about looking for another teacher. I made a good grade in the class, but I worked hard and studied.

Attendance is a must. You will also use your book a lot for homework. Don't worry, it's their to help you. Knows his stuff, just don't let his rough personality deter you. He wants you to succeed. Tests were multiple choice, and he occasionally threw out some bonus points. Don't be late! He was a good prof. and you will learn. Take him if you can.

he assigns a lot of homework, but he goes over the problems at the beginning of class, which really helps. and before every test, he gives you a practice test and he also goes over that in class, making the actual test easier. nice guy and very helpful. i just hate it when he passes out a random quiz in class, but he assigns a lot of take home quiz

Took him for college algebra. Alright teacher, all his tests are multiple choice so thats a plus. He explains alright. He is just mediocre. Ended up making a B, hes pretty nice, always makes jokes. I'm gonna guess and say he is not the hardest math teacher, but not the easiest either.

Dominant personality, so not a lot of talking by students in the class. You want him as a teacher, he's knowledgeable of his subject. Didn't teach unit circle, but for good reason. Pointlessly long homework assignments. Learned a lot. Everything was multiple choice. Grades quickly. Always asks class for questions. He wants you to succeed.

as long as you take notes do your homework as in keep up with it. you'll be a ok. tests straight out of quizzes which you get nearly every night.5 to 10 questions. i am takin him for precal and i wish he was teaching cal too. i would take him. great teacher HIGHLY RECOMMENDED

Excellent teacher! There is homework and quizzes and 5 tests with a comprehensive final which applies to any MATH 1314 class. He makes Algebra simple...just listen to what he says. Do the homework for more practice and take notes in class and you will do well. I took him Sum I and made a B.
