Comment:
Lungu is a very knowledgeable professor but he's not a great teacher. He keeps talking the whole the class and spends the time on going over quizzes instead of clarifying the material in a simplified way. His power points are very confusing. We gotta do a quiz for every class and the answers are very hard to find. He's very harsh on attendance.

This guy should be teaching at a bigger, better University. He definitely expects college-level work for his college-level class, so expect more writing than Oakton's COMP II class. Biggest flaw is that he tries to cover too much during lecture and never gets to what he truly wants to cover.

I ended up taking him when he took over half way through the semester when my original professor feel ill. He defiantly cared and was very understanding of the transitional period. I did like that he tried to incorporate class discussion, a great teacher but be ready for some dry lectures.

He was honestly the toughest professor I have ever taken but it was worth it! I took him for International Relations which was a once a week class, so make sure that you attend class or your quizzes that are due at the week will turn into zeros Overall professor Lungu is amazing and does what he can to help you pass.

Very intelligent professor, knows his material extremely well. Teaches like he's at a University, which is both good and bad -- good because you WILL learn everything you need to know about International Relations, contemporary geopolitics, and how terrible neoconversatism is, but bad because you should expect to write a page per day.

George is one of the most passionate professors in his field and is equally as knowledgeable. He is always willing to help, it's on you to take advantage of his office hours. There is a lot of reading, quizzes and 4 papers. I highly recommend this class to anyone pursuing a Political Science Major or just anyone who seems to care about the World!

Lungu is an excellent teacher that made international relations interesting and clear. He has incredible knowledge and is very helpful inside and outside of class. Attendance and punctuality are very important. He assigns a lot of reading but if you read, do the quizzes, and come to class, you'll do well.

This guy loves to hear himself talk. You'll spend every class period for the first two weeks going over every single aspect of the syllabus in excruciating detail. Then, you'll transition into going over the 10 question (true or false) online quizzes for the remainder of your class periods. Way to make an interesting subject drag.

Not the easiest class out there, there's a quiz every class session from the homework reading. He gets annoyed by students leaving the classroom and students talking in the middle of lecture. Although, he is knowledgable and otherwise a fair teacher.

Very intelligent professor! He does require a lot of reading for his class, but it's manageable. His quizzes online aren't the best because the correct answer doesn't always agree with the answer from the book. But other than that, you'll learn a lot about current events and will appreciate history more.

Just graduated from NIU and I have had classes with 17 Poli-Sci professors. Mr. Lungu stands far above all of them. A lot of reading and writing, but none of it is busy-work. He expects critical thinking, but if you don't know "how" to, he teaches you how to. Expects much, but you will LEARN much. Invaluable if Poli-Sci or IR is in future plans.

This class helped me understand what's going on in the middle east. He's sometimes hard to follow but you learn a great deal. He's really knowledgeable and passionate. Just slow him down a bit and ask questions. He's very helpful if you ask for help. Highly recommended even if you don't much care about the subject.

Truly great class and an amazing professor! A fair amount of reading but it's discussed in class. Presents things in a way that makes you think and discover yourself. Super helpful! Hint: Attend the talks for x credit and you'll get an A.
