good teacher and enjoys teaching and students, but tests are very hard even though we get a study guide, and not many interactive activities like in high school. lab was mandatory and unnecessary. annoyingly enjoys talking about politics and trump every day but doesn't support him. best if you already know a little Spanish before taking this class.

Good Teacher. Off topic a lot. Has a lot of negative views on America yet still here. Contradictory as he encourages questions but when you ask them is very dismissive and gives attitude and sarcasm and still doesn't answer the question. Tough Grader. Good Luck.

I have honestly never disliked a professor or any other instructor so much. Multiple times he has gone off topic talking down on America and white people, and always makes them sound like such awful people. Whether it is our former presidents, or members of our military. Very disrespectful, and I take huge offense to the comments he makes.

Terrible Terrible teacher!!!!!! Too much discrimination against white people and America made students feel uncomfortable. Grades horrible, dings you for everything. His handouts are useless. I would never take him for Spanish again if he was the last teacher teaching it in Sacramento. Do not take the class unless you are fluent in the Spanish.

One of the best professor in the school. You will learn things that will stick with you forever even if it does not relate to Spanish. Grades easily, follow syllabus, use the text book, and overall, just a enjoyable class. Every student on campus should take one of his course.

GRADES EXTREMELY HARD. Marks off 1/2 a point everytime you miss an accent mark (those add up!). Also he does not round any grades! I do not recommend taking this professor.

Truly one of the best professors I have had in my life. He is extremely passionate about what he teaches, he is challenging and has excellent materials. I like that he is approachable and makes sure that your questions are answered all the way and that you have no doubts. I would recommend this course to anyone who is serious about learning.

Torres is a pretty easy-going and knowledgeable professor. My only complaints are that he would sometimes trail off a bit too far when talking about politics and sometimes a student would ask a question and Torres would have an answer for a different question because he didn't understand what was truly being asked. Language barrier with a FL prof?

Professor Torres is a good teacher. As a beginner, I was very nervous when I enrolled to this class, but he made the class less stressful and easy. He explained everything clearly in his lectures. He was very helpful in the lab. Show him the homework, and he will help you learn from your mistakes. Don't be lazy! Do your work and study!

Fact is all the spanish teachers basically teach the same way. With Torres you don't have to do any oral reports and the one paper is a video report, real simple. The assignments he gives out aren't mandatory just there to help. Not big on foreign languages but he made the process as painless as possible. Definitely would recommend him.

This class is extremely easy. I really don't know why people are saying he is hard. If you want to get an A in this course all you have to do is show up to all classes, do 60 hrs in the lab, and pass all tests/quizzes. He tests straight form the book!!!! Just use flashcards and you will do fine :)

Difficult class, but if you do all the homework, go to class and the lab you can get an A or B. He doesnt like to be asked questions in front of the class and will give you a rude answer if you do. Instead, go to lab for questios and he is more than helpful! He tells you what will be on the exams, but you will need to study alot! An a is attainable

Honestly, one of the worse teachers I've had. I had him for Span 411, and he would go off on complete tangents about how horrible the "White Man" has been to the Latino Community. Oh, and everytime you miss lecture, he docks 2% off your final grade in the class. Take 411 with him if you would like to be your own spanish teacher.

He is a very stern professor, no doubt and can go off in tangents sometimes. But the class is well worth it and if you actually do the work, expect to learn a lot and get a A or B. FYI, I noticed the students who believed CrC was like high school...if you don?t study you fail...simple as that.

Honestly, worst teacher ever. The class was supposed to be about the Spanish language, but ended up being about his political views and opinions on matters. Spent the entire period, which attendance was MANDATORY, talking about the horrible things White people have done to the Latino community.

A TERRIBLE professor: doesn't use time wisely (dismiss the class early), doesn't teach clearly. Some of the hints for exams are NOT helpful...for example, he told the class to study the cultural section of the chapter for the exam, but he DOES NOT include it on the exam! Grade REALLY HARD: take 1/2 off if u miss an accent!!

Grades extremely hard. you cannot misspell a letter in a word and make sure you dont forget the accent or it's 1/2 points off your entire sentences. He talks a lot of crap before he starts lecturing! He is horrible teacher! never will i take him again! he should teach pol sci or history since he is always talking about politics & maps in the class
