Professor Beer occasionally makes a few errors here and there as he lectures. He is pretty clear and provides you with a study guide for midterms and finals. Although I have to admit some of the tests are pretty challenging and you need to know the material very well to pass. Do not expect this class to be easy if you want an A.

a study guide for the midterms will be provided. Be sure to ask for help when you need it. Don't be afraid to ask because you need to if there is confusion.

Dr. Beer is a great professor, my favorite so far. He has clear expectations, the handouts he provides are extremely helpful, attend every class meeting and get extra help during office hours.

Among the best professors of the math department. Very good at relaying complicated information incredibly clearly. What I think separates him from the other professors is that he constantly challenges you by asking "Why?", which I consider a good thing. Nonetheless, his class was very difficult and he could be intimidating at times.

He moves at a quick pace, so if you doze off in class, it's gonna be tough trying to figure out where he is. DON'T MISS CLASS. one lecture gone, is a huge gap. Visits office hours- they help (especially before a midterm and final) And, ask him questions My class was usually silent and barely talked (one huge mistake). If you don't get something ask

Clear lecture style. I concur with other students here-- expect to work hard in his class, especially in 400 or 500 level (Analysis requires hard work, anyway). He assigns alot of homework for you to practice on, and his tests are challenging. Good professor.

Dr. Beer is arguably the best professor of higher mathematics at CSULA. His exams are very fair and he gives a study guide to help prepare you. Dr. Beer took a subject as abstract as Topology and made it digestable and understandable. You will still have to work to earn an "A" so dont expect any handouts. I highly recommend Dr. Beer.

I don't know what that last guy is talking about. Beer is not a ****, he probably snapped cuz the student's an idiot, not cuz of color. Beer is VERY helpful, goes out his to help. Good teacher, not easy classes though. If you don't expect to work in a 400 or 500 level math class, change majors.

horrible professor. i think he is a ****. he snaps when an african american student ask question, but he answers nicely to white students. you can see cleary he only favors certain students, and he doesn't care rest of the class. also, his point distribution for grading is not clear. you will hate mathemtics & the topic after taking his class

Really nice guy. Smart professor, knows his stuff. He's a bit random sometimes and gives us quizzes that don't count towards anything but they ask really random questions, and those are always fun. 2 midterms, 1 final. Hw not collected, attendance not mandatory. Go to class though, because he's funny.

He was very helpful during math 559, which is a class were a math topic has to be presented by the student and a 15 page paper must be turned in. He was always available via e-mail and in person. He always took the time to explain in detail any questions I had. Excellent Professor. I have high respect for him. He is very knowledgeable.

You don't need to turn in any homework. Hell, you don't even have to do it. The class is boring enough but his clothes are entertaining. He looks like one of the guys from the Ricola commercials. Oh ya, and part of one of his fingers is missing. You get used to it though.
