Comment:
Prof. Peters is very knowledgeable, but even after spending a whole class asking questions, it was hard to understand what he was talking about. He seemed to segue into talking about Goethe way too much, especially since we read literally nothing by him in class. He is very accommodating with papers, though, and an easy grader as long as you try.

Peters never takes attendance, and has no late policy on papers. So, in theory, you can ask the first class the specifics of all assignments on the syllabus, and then just make sure to slip them under his door before the semester ends. The classes help a bit, you do a lot of peer work, mostly he just rambled on about anything at all.

Comment:
Professor Peters is not for everyone. His lectures are hardly focused on the material, and he is easily distracted, disorganized, and incapable of following his own syllabus. I worked very hard on a seven-page assignment, and he wrote two words on it, after admitting to the class that he had been "watching the game" while grading the papers.

Gerry is a truly genuine guy. he cares about his students and what they have to say. he is NOT like the other english professors who are arrogant and think they rule the school. very easy/fair grader; encourages people to talk in class but doesn't call you out. he knows an amazing amount about the world and has an interesting story for everything.

Easy class. He likes to go with the flow of a class's discussion to help you create your own opinion and thesis to write about. Not very structured but he's very helpful and understanding if you miss class.

I love love loved my english class with Professor Peters. It was really fun and easy and I didn't mind dragging myself out of bed at 7 AM to attend. The class discussions were somewhat disorganized but overall, I learned a lot of random stuff about a lot of random stuff. Great professor! Really nice guy who is interested in the students' lives.

He is a very great professor. Easy to talk to, allows you to have a mind of your own, and enjoys what you have to think or feel. I have take two courses with him and wish I were able to take more. He wants to see his students advance. I would recommend this professor to anyone that has an original though in their brain!

He talks about a lot of nothing. I took a writing class..and learned NOTHING about writing. He likes to talk a lot about Germany. He knows a lot of things, but nothing that I found helpful for english. I would not take another course with him. He was the only person allowed to go off topic..for the whole class.

Dr. Peters is a better lecturer than he is at leading group discussions, which is too bad, because he TRIES to get discussion going. Overall, I felt I learned quite a bit in his class, my biggest complaint is that his paper assignments are too vague. If you don't have a really solid idea of what to write about, you're kind of left dangling.

Very unorganized. NEVER passes back papers until the last few weeks of class. Doesn't tell you your progress so you won't even know if you pass/fail. He required 2 textbooks that he rarely uses. Just get the textbook with the readings in it...the other one was so useless I paid 50bucks on a book that he never spoke of. He's too into himself.

Great guy, laid back. He is a pretty easy grader, usually when I thought I wrote a terrible paper I got a better grade than the ones I spent time on. Talks about random stuff sometimes, but he is very intelligent and has a lot of interesting things to say.

Very nice man, very easy class. Not a ton of reading, no tests, only a handful of papers. He grades fair will let students redo a paper if they need to. His classes really didn't help a ton, but they were interesting. I would recommend if you need to take a ENG100 class, especially if you hate English.
