The worst part of being a film student at SU is having to take this guy classes. The movies are horrendous, he's pretentious and condescending. The class itself shouldn't be difficult but he makes it so uninteresting and painful. Horrible feedback on work.

I can't believe I ended up with a C in this class.My lowest grade was a B- on one of the quizzes.Peary does not care about the students but only his paycheck.The movies we watched are unbearable and brags about how amazing he is.I would highly highly highly recommend not taking him!!!!

Not a good class at all.He's extremely boring and strick.He is not fair about the tests,which by the way are very intense and his grading does not make sense.I feel like everyone in my class got a C.I don't understand how I showed up for every class and aced all my exams with a B- on the midterm and ended up with a C+?!??!

If you pay attention to what he says and READ the book when assigned, and take notes on the film, you will get the quizzes and tests. Be careful on the essays he hates bad grammar and sloppy work. If you are clear and can support your opinion it doesn't have to be the same as his. This really should be an attainable A class. Ask for feedback.

I don't understand why this professor has such poor ratings. He's literally THE man. The films shown in Film Studies are excellent, and his short lectures preceding them are actually interesting and easy to remember for his exams. The reading quizzes are no sweat at all, and if you attended class, so are the exams. Gerald Perald is super cool.

i really enjoyed his classes, discussion based not lecture, very knowlegable, has great stories about actors and directors, took class out to a bar after class one night and paid the whole tab, funny, tests were boring but he admitted to this, gave the exams out of necessity, his papers were awesome to write, took him twice and got two A

Don't take a film class assuming it is an easy A -not the case at all. The exams aren't as easy as u may expect- you have to pay attention to what he says before each film b/c a lot ends up on the exams. He is a really nice man, and I liked him.
