Comment:

Class was very long and sometimes boring. The class can sometimes be interesting but Prof. seems more interested in his own beliefs than in class. The books are used every class and notes are written on bored. Can sometimes be unpredictable but it was an alright class for the credit. Exams are on notes and it is tough when you miss a class.

Do the readings, and the assignments and you'll do fine. Midterm, Final, and a Project, and that's it. Teaching method is enthusiastic, but if you take the 3 hour course it does get a little dull, but he's still really nice and a great guy and professor.

And easy grade if you actually study and do homework. Exams are simple: definitions, choice, short essays. Assigns a group study for the semester, and makes sure you aren't penalized for others being lazy. Very interesting to listen to, especially in his area of African diaspora. Very social, fun, and helpful.

Though there is a lot of reading and very few assignments, if you do the reading, and participate in class, there's absolutely no reason to do poorly. I took it as a night class, so missing a class could be devastating, but that's not his fault.

i have to agree that the subject material is very dry. I caught myself falling asleep quite a few times during lectures. Grade is based off of midterm, a project, and the final so a bad grade could really mess you up. Overall he's a funny guy and tries to keep the class entertained. No written homework ever which is a definite plus.

I would not recommend this class to anyone but an Anthropology major. The subject is very dry and the professor does not help that one bit. He is very unprofessional, talking about students to others when they are not even present. I suggest you stray away from this professor.

Great Teacher!! loves his work, intresting lectures, sign in sheet for attendance, one big project, easy tests... if you do the reading. If he thinks the class isn't doing the reading there will be a pop quiz, but they are pretty easy. Definetly would take him again.

extremely interesting lectures, you can tell he cares about you getting something out of the class, be prepared because it's fun to be involved and answer his questions, he's a nice guy! Tests are easy if you do your part. Highly recommended!!

He's funny and has very interesting lectures. The project is fun, the tests are not too difficult if you do the readings. Be prepared for class, because he might have an unannounced quizz about the readings. (very seldom though) Take the class, it's fun!

Puts a lot of effort into giving a good, interesting lecture. Makes excellent use of class activities to get people involved in the subject. I feel like I learned a lot from this class.
