Don't think that this class is easy just because its theatre. Everything she writes on the board you need to copy. Need to read all the plays she assigns. The tests are actually very difficult and if you don't study, you won't pass. However, she does give extra credit for attending plays and musicals by CCSU. This class is mainly theatre history.

She loves what she teaches. She is very open, and is helpful with any range of questions. It's almost like a history class, just dedicated to theatre. Homework is very simple, and exams are various forms of multi choice and definitions. She jokes a lot too.

I've had Lani for several classes, and she is hands-down the best, most helpful professor on campus. She knows her stuff, is clear about what she wants you to know for tests. Show up for class, take decent notes, and you'll do fine. She's AWESOME!

Costuming class was okay. You have to do a lot of painting and drawing. Read 3 plays. Tests are exactly from class notes. GO TO CLASS! students must help out in the costuming room outside of class hours, or help with a stage crew, or write an extra essay. Cool teacher. Tells you exactly what is on the tests.

Eh. The material isn't very challenging and I was expecting to learn more/be more hands on. Lab hours are sparse. You can show up and get sent home because there's nothing to do. She seemed nice and helpful, but I think she's a bit subjective. I was honestly kinda disappointed with the class.

Lani is sharp as a whip. Entertaining, awesome. Has a PhD in body modification. Always busy, but she will multitask and hear you out no matter what time it is. Always willing to talk, but expect her to be sewing or walking or smoking while you do. :) I really envy her grandkids. Coolest. Grandmother. Ever.

Lani really was one of the greatest professors I've had at CCSU. She prided herself on having a personal relationship with her students; she was more of a helping hand than a professor. Definitely take this class, it was interesting and really fun.

i have taken both of lani's classes and her costume lab 4 times now! i love lani, she really is the best. she is the most helpful prof. at CCSU, and i'm not even a theater major!!

Lani is the sweetest, most caring professor at CCSU. She truly cares for her students, whether or not they're theatre majors. She is the diamond in the rough of CCSU. Definitely a professor worth not passing up!!!
